How to Clean Corvette Engine Bay: C6 Corvette Cleaning Part I

Quick vid on how i keep my engine bay clean. I use to be the guy who was afraid to get any water on the engine. The old LT1 engines have the dreaded optispark, that if it got wet, would cause the entire ignition system to fail. The new generation of engines are much more resilient .

Get yourself a jug of Megs super degreaser, you can dilute 4-1 and you are good. Then for dressing, Megs HyperDressing dilute at 2 parts distilled water to 1 part dressing and you can spray it on and let it dry. Also, a leaf blower will help with drying the engine bay too. I love the commitment to keeping your ride clean!

Great video, I clean my engine basically the same way, what I do when I'm done washing down the motor is, I use a leaf blower to get rid of any water that may stay in the engine compartment, it really helps...

Your are correct. The blower gets the water out the best. Nice looking Vette by the way. Really looks good in white.

Phil B Thanks Phil, it means a lot. For a lot of people a Corvette is their dream car. For me to have 3x, i do not want to disrespect them or the community with dirty or riced up vettes.

I watched This Video And Did Everything You Did Almost I Covered Up My Car Battery With 4 Plastic Grocery Bags And I Covered Up My Fuse Box With 4 Plastic Grocery Bags And I Covered Up My Alternator With 4 Plastic Grocery Bags And Then Sprayed It With Engine Degreaser And Used A Water Hose Gun To Gently Shoot The Engine The Bay With Water And Then Let It Dry For 3 hours And 30 Minutes And Now The Car Performs Way Better And It's More Quiet Thank You Texas Horse Power.

Do you ever spray degreaser behind the belts? When I bought my C5, the previous owner didn't clean up the mess from an old oil leak and power steering leak. You can imagine it's all over the front of the engine. I was thinking I would probably have to take the belt off to avoid all that oily gunk from getting all over the belt.
