What Jungkook said about the song: "This song is for ARMY. When ARMY are tired, emotionally exhausted and having a rough time, they can draw a door within their hearts and come inside... and we're there."
Basically a song to heal ARMYs - they won't tell us to "have strength", but they'll show us their story and hope that helps. When we are tired of life, we can find solace in BTS. I love the lyrics "you showed me the best of you, so you'll show you the best of you". ARMYs love BTS a lot and they want us to love ourselves just as much and be kind to ourselves. This song was a part of the Love Yourself album series.

JUNGKOOK : About “Magic Shop”: I wrote this song for our fans. Since it’s a fan song, it didn’t really feel like working but it’s a song that contains how I feel and how I love our fans. There were some things that RM hyung said during concert. He said “ if it’s you who found us and Acknowledged us, you can do it too” I started this song based on these words. It’s a song that tells, if you are tired and weary from reality, you open the door inside your mind and there will be Magic Shop and inside of it, there will be 7 of us who’ll give that strength for you. I wrote this to dedicate to our fans. It would make us very happy if a lot of people gain strength and be comforted through our song. When you feel tired and down, please visit Magic Shop.

The projecting voice dude is Park Jimin. Lead vocalist and main dancer of BTS. He has a truly unique voice, the cherry on the cake for BTS songs. His dancing is top tier, breathtaking. Voted in 3 consecutive years as King of Kpop, won multiple best dancer polls, and at the top of the Monthly Idol Brand Reputation Index for 3 years and ongoing. The only artist in Korea to own 3 national awards. Other BTS members have 2. Jimin received an extra one for his dance solo at the Melon Music Awards 2019. Jimin's recent OST hold the record for fastest to earn #1s in the iTunes chart of 100 countries (4+ hours). It now tie with V's OST as the songs with the most number of iTunes #1s (116). Known as the most caring and emphatic member. His birthday is around the corner so maybe you can do a video on him - Park Jimin 2022.

Jungkook wrote this for ARMY. The rappers write their own verses. It's all about the love they recieve and them wanting to give that love back. They want to remind us that theyvare just like us. We are there for them as much they are for us. Since ARMY takes care of them, they want us not to forget to take care of ourselves too. It's a beautiful message. I had the privilege to see this performed live in a stadium of 48,000 people yet these moments make you feel like they are singing just to you. They always have a great audience participation ending song at theie concerts.

Others Wings album songs including BS&T(Japanese version) are included from BTS universe story which are the continuation from HYYH album started with "I need U". That BTS Universe story is also continued to LY albums(the 3 of them equally), which of course Magic Shop is a part of. But Magic Shop is not on based on "Demian".

This was JK's song (Jung Kook--lead singer)...he wrote it with the 3 rappers (RM, Suga, and J-Hope) and DJ Swivel. There were a few other people at Hybe that gave in their input but I'm sorry to say I can't remember their names. Jimin is the one with the high voice that you like. One reason BTS songs are so loved is that they write their own songs about what they are going through at the time, which makes the songs relatable and their feelings always come through in the singing. JK wrote this for ARMY.

Magic shop was written by Jungkook, RM, Suga, J-Hope as well as some in house writers. It is loosely based on a book called "Into The Magic Shop" by James R. Doty which describes a psychological technique used for overcoming fear, pain and trauma by retreating to a place in your heart/mind called the Magic Shop. It's a self help technique which is why at the end of the song the lyrics are "you gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you" (instead of "so I'll give you the best of you"). It's deep and has helped so many fans. It was one of the first songs they wrote directly as a message to ARMY. You mentioned how they hit all parts of the stage. When they end a concert, they spend a long time with each of them hitting every corner of the stage separately and thanking the fans, When they bow to the audience, it's not them "taking a bow" so much as a show of respect TO the audience as a Korean cultural thing. They make you feel included and that they are grateful for you, whether you are in the front row or the last row of the top balcony. The voice you said you liked was Jimin. He has the highest, most unique voice and often projects more as a result. All the vocalists do sing high notes though. Taehyung giving the looks to the camera is a common theme...he can kill with his intense looks and eyebrow raises. It's one of my favourite songs too...especially live. You cut it off a bit before the ending....the audience keeps singing even after they have left the stage. Thanks for reacting.

This song makes me cry every time I read the lyrics… I think the most beautiful thing about it is that they’re basically saying “ when you’re feeling down, remember that you found us, gave us love, believed in us, and created magic for us and if you’re capable of doing that for us, you’re capable of doing it for yourself… So show me“ and then we respond with I’ll show you. BTS is basically imploring us to believe in ourselves in the most beautiful way, and I think that’s what this song means to me. It reminds me that I’m capable of loving myself like I love them and that is so profound. Jungkook is my bias and knowing that he wrote that is also just really lovely.

I completely agree with what you said about Jimins voice and yes Jungkook can be very endearing during concerts. Those two have said that one thing they have in common is their passionate love for performance, they have great stage chemistry
    -
    - This is about to be long cause I love them sm
    -
    - They haven't had an official unit yet but they have (two?) songs that they covered together.
    1) Christmas day - a cover of Justin Beiber's mistletoe, Jimin wrote new lyrics for it. The song is one of my go to Christmas songs
    2) We don't talk anymore pt2 - a cover of WDTA by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez. Jungkook also has a cover that he sang by himself AND he also got to perform the song with Charlie Puth
    -
    -
    - Jungkook is the main singer, lead dancer, and the center. He's also called the golden maknae (youngest) bc he's the youngest of the group and good at EVERYTHING, you'll see hehe
    - Jimin is the lead singer, Main dancer, and he is the third youngest of the group. He majored in contemporary dance so you'll see a lot of that being put to good use
    -

Magic Shop is one of their (many) love songs for ARMY. Unlike most pop artists, when BTS writes a love song, it's not to some individual person, but instead to their entire fanbase. The lyrics are talking about how they didn't expect that they could succeed, but because ARMY found them and supported them, together we were able to create this miracle. The Magic Shop represents a place where ARMY and BTS can be together and find comfort in one another's existence whenever life seems too hard.

Folks told you that Jungkook was the writer and producer for Magic Shop. I don't think anyone mentioned that he wrote it to comfort ARMY. BTS writes songs specifically aimed at ARMY - if the general public enjoys it, that's an added bonus. This is one of the reasons ARMYs are so loyal and protective of BTS...how many other groups write songs just to comfort their fans? I don't know if you've heard We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal - it was written for ARMYs, too. Other songs dedicated to ARMY are For Youth, My You...others too.

Jungkook wrote those lyrics. He is actually a shy nervous person and he wanted to write this song to the fans. He had an idea of the lyrics. Suga sat with JK and just encouraged him to write. Suga told him, he and RM would help him pull it together. But, first he had to write. JK wanted Suga to tell him what to write and Suga wouldn't do it. He was silent and patient and kept telling him, you are so talented you can do this. There are videos showing part of this process. JK loves the fans and performing. But, he is shy, young then, afraid of disappointing someone. He very much depends on the other members, particularly V.

I’m crying here listening to one of my favorite songs “Magic Shop” written by Jungkook my bias, this is the performance that made me an Army, I was so lost, depressed and tired of life but they gave me hope and another chance to live and fall in love again, so I fell for them and their music. BTS saved my life.
Thank you for your comments and for appreciating their vocals, the beautiful lyrics, the performance, you’re so respectful and I appreciate it. 💜

Magic Shop, basically, is a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude. The song is based on Dr James Doty's book "Into the Magic Shop " : a type of psychotherapy where a therapist takes on the role of a magic shop owner (it comes from a series of children fantasy novels Magic shop by Bruce Coville) who attempts to barter with “customers” in an attempt to satisfy their needs and wants in a constructive way. When you walk into the magic shop, you may ask for anything or try to sell what you don’t want. Everything comes at a price though. What you come in looking for isn’t always what you leave.
    A few of the lyrics of Magic Shop talk about how the boys want to replace ARMYs “sadness and pain” for “comfort”, much like the way the psychologist/therapist acts as the shopkeeper to exchange one thing for another. It's the second "offical fan song" after 2!3! , the first Jungkook (the youngest of the group) took a lead in writing and producing, besides RM, J Hope and Suga (the 3 rappers always write their own verse) and in-house team ( Hiss, Adora, DJ Siwel). Song by BTS for Army, to comfort them, and also a promise : BTS will always be there for Army. It's one of my favorite BTS comfort song, (with Serendipity and Zéro o' clock) ;
Also the singer you notice is Jimin, beautiful and unique voice.

    SONGWRITER(S)
Jungkook, Hiss Noise, RM, J-Hope, Suga, DJ Swivel, Candace Sosa, Adora
    PRODUCER(S)
    Jungkook, Hiss Noise, Adora
Rap line of BTS: RM (2:43), Suga (8:41), J-Hope (8:28)
The rap parts are always written by the rap line themselves, that’s a must for them. That’s why you always see RM, Suga and J-Hope’s credits on every song, because they always write their own rap verses.
Vocal line of BTS: Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, V
V 2:19, 12:00 he has the deepest voice and was the one who did that killer at 9:44!
Jin 5:57 our silver voice with his pretty high notes 11:22
Jimin 6:10 (he’s the one you said had a great projection) 12:13 he also shines with his beautiful high notes

Not sure if anyone has explained the meaning of the song yet. BTS said that they wrote this song with the intent that the Magic Shop is a safe place for Army and BTS to meet. They have said that when Army has a hard time with anything in life, to know that they can come to the Magic Shop and BTS is there to understand and comfort them (and likewise for them to seek comfort there with Army). BTS said that the song was written completely for Army. You can find the song credits on Spotify, but it is written by Jungkook, RM, Sugar, and J-hope (all BTS members). Also, when you viewed this concert video, you guessed that there were maybe 30,000 people in the audience, but actually their concerts are generally in the largest stadiums and have audiences between 60K and 80K! And people are right - you should check out Black Swan. It's amazing both the song and the choreography. Their latest concert performance of it in LA or Vegas for the PDT tour was unlike anything you will have seen. (The LA concert is actually streaming on Disney+ ). Thank you for reacting; I find your technical analysis very interesting and am looking forward to more!

The vocalist you commented on was Jimin. The song was primarily written by Jungkook, but the rappers usually write their own verses and since all three are also credited as writers (with DJ Swivel and Adora and Jungkook, of course), I think they write their verses here too. Certainly Yoongi, when he talks about his desperation for success ending up being a leash that chokes him, those are his lyrics…
This is a very intimate, beautiful, emotional song from BTS to Army, and personally, it is one of the songs that brought me great comfort and solace after the death of my Dad.

What many people don't realize is that BTS is THE MOST ENTERTAINING group out there! You have 7 super talented individuals who together forms the super group BTS. It's like watching a Marvel Movie with 7 superheroes, and when they perform it's like when the Avengers Assemble!
I got interested when I saw a video with the thumbnail that BTS made history, which I then watched to see what was it that they did. When they became the first S. Korean boy band to perform at the AMA. When I saw their performance, I was hooked because here was a group of guys who sang AND danced! It wasn't a simple dance either like previous boy bands, but a complex choreography and it also showcased ALL 7 members singing or rapping, while dancing. This was so much more practice and hard work to have pulled it off so effortlessly. Their dress and the way they carried themselves were similar to when MJ or Prince were performing, they had swag to them.
They reminded me of the Beatles in the way that girls and guys were fangirling/fanboying over them. It made me interested to find out more about them.
What I saw was not your typical solo artist, like Beyonce, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Celine Deion, Lady Gaga etc., where you had one solo artist who had backup dancers, you pretty much watched the solo artist.
What I saw was that unlike a band like Journey, Van Halen, Commodores, Queen, the Eagles, you pretty much watched the lead singer, and not so much the rest of the band.
They reminded me of the Beatles because you would watch all 4 of them, Paul, John, George and Ringo.
So, when you mentioned how the change off between J-hope and someone not singing (V) it's exactly what the ARMY is doing. They are watching ALL 7 of them and watching what each of them are doing. They are the most entertaining because you could watch this video 7 times, focus on each member, and have a different view of what they do. They all bring their OWN individualism and talent to the group. They ADD to the performance, not take away from it.
There are other groups out there, many from Korea, and now even more from other countries, but there is only ONE BTS!!

Usually when BTS is talking about stars, galaxies, space, it’s about ARMY (ex: the songs Moon, Mikrokosmos, Lights, The Astronaut, We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal, and other songs) because of ARMY bombs looking like a sea of stars from stage. Not all their songs dedicated to, about or for ARMY mention space/stars but usually if they mention lights, stars, sky, Galaxy, etc that’s what they are talking about. There are also multiple songs where the sea is used as a metaphor for ARMY also.

I know I'm late to the party, but this is my opinion and what I got from this song. BTS really is amazing in contecting with their fans, the Army. This is why they are so popular. The guys didn't really think they were going to make it big since they were with a smaller label and not as well known when they were starting out. In the beginning, they were 'bullied' by other kpop groups due to signing with such a small label... they were the underdogs. Their ability to be genuine, kind, and respectful with their fans and other Kpop groups have really allowed them to stand out. This is my first time hearing this song, but it speaks a lot to their fans and how much the Army has changed their lives

This is what I just read:
"With the help of BTS' youngest member Jungkook for the production of the song, “Magic Shop” is a track that surrounds a concept about how if fans look inside their hearts, they will find a magic shop where they can exchange their fears for happiness and find the love all of the members have for them.
The song is inspired by James Doty’s autobiography Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon’s Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart and its concept of opening up one’s heart and loving oneself and others.
During the BTS press conference on May 24, 2018, Jungkook described the track as a song that could be comforting for ARMYs-whenever they felt tired, sad, or frustrated they could just have to open the door in their heart to the magic shop and there they would find the seven members of BTS waiting for them.
Fans theorize that the magic shop plays a role in the BTS music video universe, where some characters are seen trading in specific items that play a significant role in the music videos, and some are shown leaving with items shown in the Highlight Reel."

BTS is an amazing group, they’re pretty much given the freedom to make their own decisions or input regarding production of their songs, concerts, & video productions. Lol, I see a lot of people have already answered who wrote the song. The vocalist you're talking about is Jimin. As for the meaning of the song, it is written directly to ARMY, with the intention of helping them through difficult times. The song actually incorporates a psychodramatic technique and essentially acts as a guide for mental health therapy. There's still a lot of stigma against mental illness (especially Asia), plus a lot of people around the world may not have the resources to access therapy.
The song starts off with the compassionate understanding that it can be difficult to tell others about your deepest problems, that even the retelling may cause scars. And instead of the useless words that most people will tell you, "have strength," they will instead tell you their own story. The first rapper moves on to describe the hardships that BTS themselves have faced. Though they always said the words that they'd eventually make it, inside they weren't actually sure if that would be true or not. In there most difficult times, it was ARMY that found them and supported them.
In the pre chorus, they move on to say that on days where you hate yourself or want to disappear, you should make a door in your heart. When you enter that door, BTS (their music, their content, their words) will be waiting, in your own Magic Shop that will comfort you. In the chorus, they sing that there, you can drink a cup of warm tea (rest and take comfort) and look up at your galaxy (through many of their songs, BTS has compared each person's life experience to "their own galaxy" where the issues they face can create unique constellations. So "looking at you galaxy" is like reviewing your life story). You'll be okay in the Magic Shop.
In the next verse, one of the rappers confess that they had always wanted to be the best, so they became anxious constantly comparing themselves to others. That "greed" or drive that was their weapon ended up suffocating them instead and becoming a leash. Looking back, they didn't want to just become the best, they wanted to become your comfort and move your heart (like maybe changing our perspective on life), to take away our sadness and pain.
During the bridge, they confess that they were afraid of everything too. But we can find the answer/solution in our galaxy (life experience) and in our hearts. The next part is the revelation they have for ARMY: "you gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you." ARMY put in so much effort to support BTS and help them through their hardships. We can use that same strength to help ourselves. The call and response portion of the song is like BTS eliciting a promise from ARMY: "so show me," "I'll show you."
I think a lot of reactors have difficulty believing when we say certain songs are written about or in reference to ARMY. I feel like not many western artists do that and people think we're just "fanatic" and reading too much into things. While many songs often refer to ARMY if you understand the subtext, BTS has a few songs that are actually written FOR ARMY. Those songs are almost like letters and are especially meaningful for us. And Magic Shop most definitely is one of them!

The Magic Shop in psychological term is a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude, where the therapist is the "Shop owner" and the patient exchanges their trauma etc. for something else.
With this basis, this song of BTS is created, where BTS chose to create a place of refuge for the heartbroken, a place of healing for the disturbed, and a place of love for those who are lonely.

Fantastic reaction but, if you had let it play to the end, you would have heard the crowd continuing to sing after BTS had disappeared from sight. Always a good idea to watch to the end as BTS often have extra bits. You will find that their lyrics are often very deep and meaningful. A song may sound upbeat and happy or slow and sexy but it's not till you read the lyrics that you see the messages and understand what they are saying. I think it is one of the things that make them so special. You can enjoy their music just at face value but if you dive into the words....well, wow! Really enjoying your journey.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
