I truly don't understand the hype over the IG's version of this song. The musical greatness is missing, Knopfler's Spanish-style finger picking and the iconic guitar melody. To me this sounds like a solid campfire version of a great song.
I've heard three versions of this song - this one, the original and one by the Killers. I love them all for slightly different reasons. Dire Straits for Knopfler's ridiculous guitar work. The Killers for making it butter smooth and beautiful. And this one is all about the passion.
