I love your channel because you provide fit advice including sizing. Amazing how 99% of other reviews skip that part. I ordered the SLX Carbon 1/2 a size down.
I’ve worn Footjoy for years mostly Dryjoys absolutely love those that said with these new Footjoy shoes. I find them bigger in size than they used to be. I wear a 12 medium I almost need an 11 or 11 1/2 because they are so much bigger I don’t know what their doing but they really need to get a hold of their sizing problems!
Just watched the latest review on the FootJoy Pro SLX, and wow, it's quite the breakdown. The detailed analysis on every tweak made to the shoe, especially around comfort and stability, really makes you want to give them a go. I was initially skeptical about the major redesign, but the explanation behind the new features and how they're supposed to work won me over after watching the video. The performance tests on wet and slippery conditions matter a lot to me, as I often play in such weather. The look of the new model is definitely polarizing; I'm still on the fence about it. But at the end of the day, performance is what counts. Thanks for sharing such an in-depth review, it really helps in making an informed decision!
Hey Kevin.....would love your thoughts on longevity of spikeless shoes. Realize there are a number of factors and people don't wear them the same or play the same type of courses, so maybe an unfair question but just thought I would ask for your input. Thank you!
If you're only wearing them on the course, you shouldn't have to worry about the longevity for a couple of years at minimum. I have a spikeless pair of mizuno wave that I wear all the time as my 'muddy trainers' for walks in the forest with my family, and the outsole looks brand new. By comparison, I also have a pair of Jordan 1 low golf shoes that I have worn a lot off the golf course, and I have worn the spikeless outsole down to a flat surface, even wearing through the rubber in one section. I hope that helps give some more context?
Great review Kevin once again. Like your polo shirt care to provide details please. Also new firmware has been released for the shotscope x5 watch which shows course layout. Shoes a bit pricey
Thanks Raj 👍 It’s from GFore, picked it up in their sale this year. Yeah I saw the Shotscope X5 update, not had a chance to give it a try yet, but I will 👍
The SLX is comfortable with good traction in dry conditions. They are a little too bulky with trousers. The biggest problem is I played Royal Portrush in a steady rain a couple weeks ago. My Galvin Green rain gear worked great but the water running down my rain trousers soaked through the toe of the shoe. By the end of the round my shoes were full of water. Not sure if it all came from the tongue/laces or some came around the sole they were so wet. Wet turf traction in this shoe was also very poor. Ok shoe for dry conditions. Extremely disappointed with their performance in wet conditions. Any shoe they lets water in like these did simply isn’t acceptable.
Thanks for sharing Ray. My waterproof test shoes most golf shoes will let water in that situation, only a few have a gusset and waterproof tongue that will keep the water out when he water if running off the waterproof trousers onto the bottom of the laces. Generally if it’s wet conditions, I favour spikes over any spikeless, even these.
In wet conditions spikeless shoes, regardless of brand, simply are not as good as spikes. I did order Ecco C4 Biom’s with Gore-Tex. Hopefully they will be better. Finding shoes with gussets is now something I look for. What brands do you suggest?
I love the old ones sooo comfy. The new ones look good I think, just not sure about the high bit on the back it look likes it comes up too high but I will try them on when I see a pair and make my mind up then, Great review thanks
These are clogs. They are stable but they are freaking huge and makes you almost 2 inches taller which now changes the angle and posture to the golf swing
@@GolfGuyReviews The white parts? They’re already broad and flat with teeny tiny grooves which are more there to show whether they’re brand new than offer any traction. Around here when you go to golf there is a lot of parking lot and sidewalk/cartpath to walk just to get to the range section, putting green, or clubhouse. It eats up spikeless shoes quick. They should have put a few blown rubber elements around the TPU outsole just for rain slick floor safety. Saucony had to do this with their crystal rubber running outsoles. The new material felt awesome on dry road and gripped floors like crazy, but as soon as it got wet it would slip like a banana peel.
Ooooooh, the central white parts are just exposed FTF+ foam, not tpu. The blue parts of the outsole are tpu, the green parts at the front and pack are rubber, and the white are just foam, which sits well below the tpu and rubber 👍
Old shoe, at least on my feet, never lasted long with the sole coming adrift at the front in less than a season not once but twice. So I would be wary of buying Footjoy again

Yep, these come up big too

Thanks so much for watching and such a detailed comment 👍👍
I have two pairs of pro sl shoes and my only criticism is the heel was too low so it’s a win from me. 🙏🙏👌
Result 👍 thanks for watching Bill
I don't mind the look of these I actually like them alot as long as they are comfy they work for me great review well done cheers from Canada
Cheers golf addict 👍👍
These are the best looking shoes fj has ever made. Love em
Love the look of these footjoys, and they tick all the boxes for year-round wear in the UK, but unfortunately I'm not paying £180+ for them
There’s a link for £5 off the £160 pair in the description, but your right, that’s still a lot of money 👍
Just ordered mine today, Fingers crossed.
Let me know how you get on 👍

Love the old ones, hate the look of these
I don’t think you’ll be the only one. Thanks for watching 👍
Nice shoes. Can you review Ecco sho? Maybe compare and contrast with Footjoys?
I did a review of the Ecco H4, never got round to the C4. I might buy their latest pair to try out 👍
I was excited to see this but it may affect my chronic Achilles tendinitis.
🤦♂️ that must be a pain to deal with

Thanks Mark 👍 I prefer the fit of the new ones, but that’s just me
Hate the look of these. Not as bad as the FJ Fuel, but the old pro SL’s were CLEAN.
These are certainly a lot thicker than the Fuel, and I think the looks will be more divisive 👍 thanks for watching and commenting Lex 👍
More modern, technical shoes. Great look
These are clogs. They are stable but they are freaking huge and makes you almost 2 inches taller which now changes the angle and posture to the golf swing
Clog 🤣 but yes certainly not low profile
The central flat sections are rock hard and will go bald in a month, making these shoes a major slip hazard on that hard blue plasticky ring.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I don’t think the TPU will go bald unless you’re walking on A LOT of concrete, like everyday sneakers

moon boots
Not the first that’s said that to me 👍

Strange that you had it happen twice in the same way, I’ve not had similar issues, but I don’t get a chance to wear shoes out these days 🤣
Looks ugly sadly since they are the only spikeless in 4e that you can get here(if they still offers that).
The SLX outsole is soooo ugly. The shoe looks bulky and chunky.
I see “snow boot” and not golf shoe.
I don’t mind the outsole, because I’m not looking at it 🤣 the key is it works well 👍 but I can see what you mean with your description 👍
@@GolfGuyReviews HA! Yeah...I'm not looking at my ass either (thank God), but hopefully it looks nice for the person who has to...my wife.
🤣🍑😘
Hate these, they’ve got this one wrong
You’re not the only one who thinks that 👍 it was a risk to change it up for sure
"promo sm" 💐
??
Spike less nope nope nope 🤢🤢🤢🤮guess I’m no longer a Footjoy purchaser
But they already make plenty of other spikeless and spiked?
