Trying something a bit different this week, I hope you like it! It's a bit of a "blast from the past" and a bit of a rambling discussion, plus a bit of nostalgia for me, both the game itself as well as how relatively relaxing it is to just play games and talk, almost like that's what I started this channel to do over 10 years ago.
- Thanks for letting me know about this wonderful game - Agreed: in games where you can come back to previous areas (e.g. open world games), level scaling should never be anything more than an OPTION that can be toggled on and off. Forcing it onto players is both annoying and antidiagetic (makes no sense that common bandits in your starting area should suddenly be as strong as the space aliens you face right at the end of the game)
some of the games from funorb, including this one, was saved and shared online. shouldn't be that hard to find a place to download this if you want to play. without multiplayer unfortunately
I've had an on/off relationship with Runescape for a long time now, and I remember this spinoff 100%. Thought I was losing it once because I couldn't find it a few years after leaving RS and coming back thinking it was all a dream or something
Good to see people still enjoying the game, algorithm sent me. Something to note about this, this game currently has "2 versions" available to the public. The dropbox one you noted, which has the single player, and then the website+downloadable client which allows multiplayer, and the game is still alive after all these years. The multiplayer one has issues with unit models atm, but that's a small price to pay to be able to play it online with others. If you did search for this but didn't find the online version, shows just how much they're presenting themselves to the outside. Won't link it here cause I don't know how you handle posting links in comments, but if someone wants to play it online they can.
@@TheCCPlayer Hey I recognize that profile picture! Such a fun game. Yeah I did a bit of digging but I didn't find everything. I stopped when I found the dropbox version. I could probably find the other if I wanted to. Really glad to hear the communities that loved these games still have options to play! Everyone obsesses over Arcanists but so few people talk about AoG, Zombie Dawn or Dragon's Lair, which were my personal favorites.
@@MythrilZenith Funorb had so many good single player games along with the multiplayer ones, I still play Miner Disturbance cause it was my fav from them.
I was never a Runescape girly so I can't say much on it but commenting just to help you out on the algorithm hope it helps babe and keep posting cuz almost all of your videos are amazing at least the ones that I can refer to okay the Fire Emblem ones
@@DunYappin understandable. I wasn't planning to put this out this week but life and everything made making the scripted video I had planned not really possible right away, so it was either this to keep rhythm or nothing. More Fire Emblem definitely on the way soon!
@@MythrilZenith oh I wasn't saying any shade at all my love I was just letting you know that like I couldn't give a better comment because I don't know what the video was about but you did a good job with it I enjoyed what you did post
@@panegyr Thanks! I don't have a ton of other browser games like this that I played growing up, but this was a notable example that I missed for YEARS before finding it again.
@@squidmanfedsfeds5301 Not gonna lie, I feel like playing this game gives a totally different (but still canon-adjacent) context for the God Wars and all the quests that interact with them. Also just a fun campaign, and great example of branching path design.
@@MythrilZenith agreed, I think it’s so awesome to have multiple different games in the RuneScape world I wish we’d see that more from other franchises, like a turn based elder scrolls game or something

some bit of scaling, that is reasonable, and lore consistent can be possible, but not to much
As a child i loved playing armies of gielinor (always played Zamorak) and that one zombie game

@@ElutPesto truly a forgotten mystery of a game. Sad that it got unhosted, but a miracle that someone archived it.

Friends there is still a way to play the 3 story campaigns, as well as sandbox against ai or someone on the same computer
