You actually introduced me to a new whole world of sounds and emotions and made my writing more prolific and personal. Thanks for connecting to my soul in a telepathic way. Never stop making art.
This was exactly what I needed on a calm and quiet night. Only sounds and a fragment from time to time. The beauty of Nils' sound, complemented by pleasing video footage.
Nils, a musical genius at his best again. It just seems to come so effortlessly, or so it sounds - that's the true sign of talent! Thanks so much for sharing my friend....
I've seen Nils play live a handful of times and not much else comes close to these experiences. If you ever get the chance to see a live show, do yourself a favour. His album recordings are also incredible!
Nils siempre busca como mostrar audiblemente su propio sonido interior. la búsqueda y la conexión con la naturaleza es una prueba de su angustia vital propia de un genio.
This is so healing & relaxing to listen to, not just listen to but to also watch...Nils, you're a music genius of 21st century..This is so raw & so pure...THANK YOU! ❤🎹🎶 -Yana x
Amazing video, makes me appreciate the music even more now. I see how it can be interpreted in a number of ways given the title. Glad we got to see this side of Nils creativity! Live album of all melody when?
Watched and liked. Then rewatched with proper headphones and loved. What a difference, what a world in the smallest of sounds. Amazing work, both image and sound!
Empty is a dangerous title to write on a tape box. Might be a self fulfilling prophecy if you’re not careful. Requiem for water goes through my mind. We may witnessing the end of rain now.
I listened the album. The field recording is kind of anecdotic in it. The music itself has a beautiful essence, though it gets way too shadowed and covered by the noises of pedals and hammers. It is like trying to listen a subtle soft voice while having some street work noises getting through the window. When this whole neo-classical thing started I kind of liked this trend of recording all those noises, and having the piano open. It looked like a charming and expressive thing. Now I am really saturated of all that, not just because everyone does it, but because it doesn't feel charming or expressive, but like mere aesthetic decoration. An ornament. And it doesn't appeal to a natural phenomena, for in reality the audience doesn't hear those noises, not even the pianist (not in such degree). Putting a microphone recording all of that, like a hyper close up porn shot, is very unnatural. So it transforms the music itself into something slightly artificial, despite its rustic appearance. That whole thing is especially unfortunate when the music is so very minimalistic, because minimalism relies on subtleties, and most of those subtleties disappear under those random noises. The same happens because of having the piano open showing the mechanism. Doing that you extremely reduce the resonances and all subtleties are gone. In early Nils works, just in some, that muted effect worked at times, but not for the later or this one. I know people are so very fond of such noises and open pianos, but it is a musical resource that is just decorative, and kind of pastiche. I am sure these musicians will regret in the future all this recordings. Plus doing that affects to the way people compose. Having. such low sonic posibilities they end up doing the same thing over and over again.
Oh! My God! Nils what are you saying when we see the the broken dead trees? Death and destruction is everywhere but Mother Earth will prevail and so will we New shoots will grow ???????
Sometime ago, mankind even lit a fire with it in order not to die frozen, or he even cooked his meals with it because he hadn't the chance of sitting on a Ikea sofa in a warm place, eating vegan salad with quinoa cooked with gas supply and watching youtube. You're welcome
i see this is supposed to be an almost 40 minutes long commercial for a self acclaiming music cowboy shooting meaningless but dramatic looking field recordings in the wild just to go back to his studio and fill some kitschy piano patterns with another level of pretended profoundness..
I was driving and I had BBC6 music on. I didn't catch what song you were playing on a piano, but I googled you. WHAT A FIND!

i love the wintery sounds! gives goosebumps! :D
The Revenant of music production
That's ironic, considering Ryuichi Sakamoto has a very similar creative process, as seen in the documentary 'Coda'. Must watch.
@@stillpont Thank you I watched it after reading your comment - amazing :)
Amazing! ❤️
@@stillpont I was just going to write that; this video reminded me of Coda before I read the comments
