I have never had chance to see Rush Live. Rush have neverthless been part of my life. I enjoy the lyrics, I admire the musicality and skill and performarance.
I’ve seen them three times; Signals, Hold Your Fire and r40. You don’t have to see them live to support them. We buy their records/CD’s /MP3’s and other RUSH merchandise. Just because you haven’t seen them live doesn’t mean you are less of a fan. They were just as important to you growing up than they were to me and I’ve seen them live. You’re a RUSH fan.........that’s all that matters
Where? So did I! NOVEMBER 1976 - RKO ORTHEUM THEATER in Davenport, Iowa (ACE / RUSH / MONTROSE) I was 14 years old. Went with two friends, sat front row, middle, on balcony
I love the way so many of the SCTV comedians have done opening pieces for Rush. Eugene Levy was great there. It looked like his Earl Camembert character. I wish he’d have played his Bobby Bittman comedian character, like when Joe Flaherty did the opening for The Weapon as Count Floyd. I wish John Candy would have lived long enough to do a Rush introduction. He was my favorite comedic character actor of them all. Having the South Park boys introduce Tom Sawyer has to be my favorite celebrity introduction of all time for Rush. “Those aren’t the right lyrics fatass”. “Hey! I’m Geddy Lee and I can sing whatever lyrics I want!”. “A modern day warrior named Tom Sawyer, he floated down a river on a raft with a black guy! Do, do doodle do do doodle do Da do do”. I love the way Cartman has to mouth the keyboard part. The funniest celebrity skit with Rush has to be Ricky kidnapping Alex Lifeson on The Trailer Park Boys! “Hey, play I like to Rock?”, Alex: “That’s April Wine”… “Then play that Diane Sawyer song, fucking play something. That’s what you’re here for”. I laughed all the way through that skit. “Hotel security! This man is drunk as fuck, he’s a male prostitute and on lots of drugs!”. Best ever!
It took me a second to realize what they were doing...must have been what their set looked like opening for KISS... LONG LIVE THE 3 TRAVELERS... God the Father...GEDDY God the Son...ALEX HOLY SHIT...NEIL IS GOD ! ! !
I saw Rush Many, many times. Too many to count even dragged to a concert in a small town Ontario Arena because my uncle who was babysitting us wanted to go to the concert and dragged me along leaving my brothers to my aunt. I sat in dismay in this small town arena having my ears blown out and at the time not enjoying it but later loving it.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they recognized and that played a part in their wrapping it up. Other bands (the one they opened for) need to take a hint. But they don't have the class these guys do.
Damn. I've never once criticized Geddy's voice but he sounded bad on Lakeside Park. I hope Anthem is better. Nope. Sadly no better. It always lifts my heart to see these three friends doing what they did better than most. Sadly all gone now with Neil's tragic passing. Thankfully we have video remembrances.
Glad to see you guys had a great show in Philly! I love this tour's Gear Porn stageshow. I'm seeing them three weeks from tonight in PDX and while it has been a long wait, catching great clips like this one as they make their way closer has made the wait much easier.
Geddy doesn't hit the notes with authority, but the biggest problem is they don't play the end of Lakeside Park! The best part is the slow build at the end. "Some memories last forever"
I read that they shot the Toronto dates for an upcoming DVD. And according to Alex, they are not officially retiring, just ceasing from LARGE SCALE touring, as I suspected. I didn't catch Rush on this tour. To me, seeing concerts isn't what it used to be, but I've seen them many times over the years. I'll be eagerly awaiting the DVD. I 'm guessing it will probably be out before Christmas. Can't wait!
Hi , i am coming fron the future. Yes they were oficially retiring at that time and well .. there are more news but :'( but find out when you arrive at 2020.
Have you watched the video (back in the '60s when it was recorded it was film!) with Alex arguing with his mom and dad about dropping out of high school? He didn't want to go on to his senior year (12th grade) Told them he could make $80.00 (Canadian) a night playing in a band. Little did anyone know sitting around that dinner table he will become a multi-millionaire!
they did right by stopping i hate saying that watching this i kinda get the feeling that niel was making up the stuff about tendonitis instead of having to tell geddy it was time for him to give up singing
I like their stuff right up to permanent waves, after that I didn’t give a shit but they already proved they kicked everyone’s ass so it didn’t matter anymore.
I still dont understand why Geddy went to that strained falsetto voice during the last couple tours. Its hideous. He should have just moved the song down a register to where his voice is now. No one would have complained about that.
Damn it's hard watching Alex Lifeson try to keep a straight face playing to this singing! Poor bastard can't sing since around 2004...Some say since 1974. They his arthritic hands to play guitar and Neil's bad shoulders is why they stopped but the real reason has to be Lee.... he can't sing any Rush songs but he's the singer of Rush! Go figure ...
Sam Dehnad Alex stated that his arthritis was greatly exaggerated. He made a great point. He added how anyone at his age has some sort of pain and that he’s doing fine for the most part. Neil’s chronic tendinitis and desire to be with his family is the main reason why Rush “retired”. Both Geddy and Alex don’t seem to be quite ready yet to stop, Geddy even expresses the desire to keep touring, but I agree Neil is done for good.
what they should have done is very simply HIRE A GIRL SINGER GIRLS CAN HIT THOSE NOTES EASY if you find the right girl it could work and the could launch a young singers career at the same time

Nothing
Nothing
Takes the place of A Live Performance
RUSH
Were going to have alot of fun tonite !
Nothing takes the place of Rush
I've seen them 25+(?) Times. This is a HORRIBLE video. Don't ruin the music for yourself
When rush asked the fans what song they wanted them to play,im the only one who picked lakeside park, and they played it.thanks guys
Wow, and this conment two years old. And I thought I was the only individual in the world with such sentiment. 👍
I saw Rush in 1976 and again in 1981, I'm looking at my ticket stubs hanging on my wall as I write this. Great Band!
Ditto

Don’t criticise! These are legends right here.
Good ol' Eugene Levy. Such a memory of a show in Philadelphia loved seeing Rush live finally.

I love Rush.
But my God, those vocals are brutal.

They still are very good. I love this band and I hope they keep on playing.
I seen them in November 1976! Seen them do Anthem, it was awesome! - RKO ORPHEUM THEATER in Davenport, Iowa (ACE / RUSH / MONTROSE)
Glad to see you guys had a great show in Philly! I love this tour's Gear Porn stageshow. I'm seeing them three weeks from tonight in PDX and while it has been a long wait, catching great clips like this one as they make their way closer has made the wait much easier.
my favorite rush song...the neil peart fills at the end are ridiculous. :)
rudimentary for him. he actually was falling asleep during this encore. lol. RIP NEP
Geddy doesn't hit the notes with authority, but the biggest problem is they don't play the end of Lakeside Park! The best part is the slow build at the end. "Some memories last forever"
That's my favorite part. I grew up with "All the world's a Stage" at 11 yrs old. That's the best Segway (?) For 2112. The whole album is GREAT!

THOSE are two of my favorite RUSH songs from 75, but, but, but.....those vocals were not easy on my ears Sorry Geddy.
Agree.
I think his voice was shot at this show, maybe fighting a cold.
I don't think I've ever heard him sound this bad.
They probably should have changed the key or just sung an octave lower. That would be better.
Geddy lee is the best talent of the galaxy that day he was old
I love this song!
can't he go an octave lower then occasionally go for the high notes? would be loads better
7:20 look at those bass drum heads vibrating
I was here!
Geddy the best singer that they he was old
that's the guy on the exit stage left album
I love how he sings so high
Alex......oh my goodness!!!
How does the “weird voice guy” get an announcing job. Rush-On !
"We Have Assumed Control...We Have Assumed Control...We Have Assumed Control". In other words, WHAC WHAC WHAC.
Rip professer the best multi percussionist
Wow, Geddy's voice is going
He can't hit those high notes very well anymore
Geddy didn't need the echo reverb technology to his voice would much more have enjoyed the old school monotone
Alex was suffering hearing this but rush is rush the best
He completaly nails it with the vocals here, best singing than other tours.
I WAS THERE
Im a deep massive Rush fan since god knows but Ged can’t sing anymore and he’s really not been the same since before clockwork angels.
Neil looks so tired here. He’s just got this “please GOD let it end” look on his face.
They should open for kiss again.
they did right by stopping
i hate saying that
watching this i kinda get the feeling that niel was making up the stuff about tendonitis
instead of having to tell geddy it was time for him to give up singing
rockhard no he really had that and stuff wrong with his feet which made using his bass drums and high hat really difficult
He didn’t make it up. He wore an elbow brace on the Test for Echo tour and you can see him having problems with his feet in some documentaries.
I would have rather Alex used a guitar with P90s. It would have done okay on lakeside park and gave Anthem its balls back.
who gives a fuck.
@@geftiler2112 K.
geddy voice is very squeeky here..
kid gloves its terrible he should stop it’s painful
@@Billykid514 They didnt play Kid Gloves and havent since 1984.
I like their stuff right up to permanent waves, after that I didn’t give a shit but they already proved they kicked everyone’s ass so it didn’t matter anymore.
6:24 only good part of geddys voice
Painful Watchin Geddy try to sing Lakeside Park...
He nailed it. Let's see you get close.
Cam Crysler well duh, he’s an old man now
Poor guys
I still dont understand why Geddy went to that strained falsetto voice during the last couple tours. Its hideous. He should have just moved the song down a register to where his voice is now. No one would have complained about that.
Caricature
Omg Geddy Lee, in an elevator, can I shake your hand?
I have a yo-yo in my hand...
Whatev......
Damn it's hard watching Alex Lifeson try to keep a straight face playing to this singing!

Well, this was their last tour for a reason. And if they ever replaced Geddy there would be riots in the streets.
Sam Dehnad Alex stated that his arthritis was greatly exaggerated. He made a great point. He added how anyone at his age has some sort of pain and that he’s doing fine for the most part. rockhard what the fuck is the point of playing rush if the member won’t even be in it
