Thanks very much for the shout out Joey, really appreciate it. Multimeter is looking great, and those Hakko PCB holders are great, I must invest in one. Thanks for everything you do for the console repair scene, love your videos ❤
Joey I've been having the same issue for over a month on the SAME console (even same colour), and turned out to be a faulty cap on the nand area. The one on the far right, where, if you were to install a picofly chip, you'd place SP2. Try that out!
An old friend of mine that did aircraft system fault finding said he used to stick a larger fuse in till the item that was faulty blew so he could get that changed, he said it saved him 1000’s of hours of fault finding
I know your frustration. I worked for Mercedes (retired now) and had a V12 Bi-Turbo that would would lose half the motor when run at 130 mph plus for extended period of time intermittently. It literally took a month and 5 scopes connected to the engine to locate the problem was on the right side (the V12 is basically two motors sharing one crankshaft) and an additional week of running the engine in the lot with radiator blocked to get the car hot enough to duplicate the problem. Turns out it was a bad solder connection for all the coils ground on the right side motor. Adding to the frustration was the wiring diagram from the factory did not match the vehicle in locating the "Z" splice for that ground. Replaced entire engine harness, problem solved.
We were only able to drive it that fast a few times. Client paid for the track time. The other times wwe ran it on the dyno. The car was capable of doing close to 200 mph (ECM Chip Mod). This client took the car to Montana quite often to see what it could do at a time when there was no speed limit in certain areas of Montana.
Next you just need a sonic brush for cleaning ;) - Itch !! 0.02 amps.... honestly I would have the amp meter plugged in and then using the multimeter see where the 0.02amp is going to, that might show you where the issue might be ?
That 0.02amps is a nightmare that someone needs to crack somehow, imo I think it’s an internal short in the cpu/gpu that just doesn’t show up as it’s so small
:18:18 your correction with 460mah is still wrong, because, like we had sometimes ago in the live chat, the reading is mA not mAh 🙂 mA is the current power, mAh is the power over time (hour).
I follow your channel for several months now and it is incredible how you developed absolutely everything! Not only tools or electronic/fixing skills but also soft skills like communication, pace, etc... Congratulations from Brazil! You seem to be a very nice guy. You deserve everything you conquered and much more to come! PS: Don't ever stop Profit or Loss series. Hehehe
Hi Joey, if you want to get the name/writing off the back of the case use lighter fluid (which is basically the same as a product naphtha) on a cotton swab, no joke! 👍🏼
I think the problem is he need to remove a cap or two along the given rails and when the aberrant draw is eliminated he can slowly track down where the problem is, instead of just removing IC's willy-nilly
0.02 amps :D, love the videos. Just recently bought a DSi XL that shows no signs of life, even though the battery has 3.9 ohms. Quick google provided me with you're video from 2 years ago, where you replaced F1 and F2 and done you 'first' trace repair. As entertaining as the video was, you've definitely came along way Joey, keep up the great work.
Fascinating thing you’re into. I’m gonna give it a go. Bought some tools and a couple of Xbox 360s to play around with. Those ceramic caps are expensive hey.
i absolutely HATE water damage indicators. seeing as they will trigger FROM SIMPLY MOIST AIR. you litterally cannot own any apple product if you live in the netherlands and actually want them to fix your stuff. because they WILL refuse to replace your hdmi port if the indicators are pink. even if it's every single one of them. and even if it's only a single one on the opposite end of the board. they put them on there just so they can deny people their warrenty.
With sally’s spectacular spreadsheet. Why don’t you link the pages. Then it will automatically update the main page as you put in the weekly costs and sales

why aren't you using thermal camara
I did use a thermal camera 😊😊Apologies I should have put that in the video! @@Saivishal-bs6rt

You're more than welcome! Thanks again for the advice, appreciate it :)

i was gonna say why are you going 130+ anyways but if I had a V12 I probably would too😂

Love the new format with the mixed in live stream, keep it up 0.02 amp man

Thank you I appreciate the kind words :)
Are you pulling the replacement chips from donor boards?
Because isn't there a possibility that one of two of those chips are bad from the donor side?
Oh 100% correct.

“Welcome to S1 Episode 4,534 of profit or loss” 😂
Maybe you should have aimed for £500 plus or minus just for season two’s sake! 🙈
Isn't there some way of tracing what's going on with a 'scope rather than just changing chips and hoping?
Joey Does 0.02 Amps!! If you don't drink alcohol, maybe it's time to start. Beware of gremlins. Great Attempted Repair, and Video! Thank You. 😀
0.02 amps ;) don't forget lol
😂
it seems like there is a bridge on the usb port in 13:42 worth checking though.
0.02 amps. A modern day mystery it is.
0.02 amps, Joey’s favourite reading 😅
You really have a 0.02 amps of itch for fixing stuff, according to a friend of mine. lol
0.02 AMPS! Seriously, nice work.
Solid work Joey.

I'm curious what solder you use and what temperature you set your iron to
I did like your older videos which put the info on screen for temp and airflow would be also good to see solder iron tip/type too
0.02 amps Well done on compiling the video into an enjoyable piece of content.
0.02amp better luck next time mate.
I genuinely don't know how you managed to stay calm doing this.
Fascinating thing you’re into. I’m gonna give it a go. Bought some tools and a couple of Xbox 360s to play around with. Those ceramic caps are expensive hey.

You’ll be having nightmares for months over that 0.02 amp draw Joey! Great video though!
did you calibrate your hot air station because you are using 450 degrees Celsius, that's a lot of heat on that small bga chip,
I stab myself with tweezers on regular.
Considering going professional in this sport.
Joey love your videos. Can you or some explain to me why you would clean flux off to then just add more?
Hi Joey, beautiful content as always. Powerful soldering iron, which model from Metcal is yours? thanks and regards from Italy
0.02 amps… one day … that is all the display will ever say 😂😂😂😂😂
