I got my pygmy goats when they were 6 months old. The owner was an older gentleman so he wasn't able to spend a lot of time with them, but was very happy and healthy. He told me I would probably never be able to pet them. Many hours spent in the goat house with them holding them and a little bit of treats here and there and now they are my best friends. I would spend many nights out there with them just to let them know I would never hurt them. Two years later, totally different.
Ya 2 years seems to be the timeline. I started out with 150 goats and all were wild. I gained their trust by just showing them respect and giving them their room, yet letting them know I won't hurt them. They watch me love on the friendly ones and they get curious. They want to know what the big deal is. Now I have all but 2 unfriendly goats.
I have a new goat, her name is Rosie. But she’s a very scared girlie! We try show her it’s okay, by petting our goar infront of her. But if someone moves she sprints.

Good advice 😊 we have two very skittish boys

Good job!
