Rebecca so love your channel, you have knack for giving clear and precise instruction. To say nothing about your own creativity, these turned out oh so beautiful, love them. Your Canadian fan
Oh wow. Absolutely beautiful piece. I would love to try something like this on a smaller scale tho. But in still new to resin (about 2 months) and I'm a lil scared to just experiment. Plus buying supplies for the first time can get expensive. They may last a while but it's just the initial start up. But I will eventually give it a try. Again. Love your work. And now I know you are on Facebook I will follow you there as well. Have a great day
Thanks! Yeah, the initial cost is a bit rough. Once you get supplies, don't be afraid. Sometimes things mess up but those are good learning opportunities. I was really scared when I first started and now resin is no problem!
The Frugal Resinista Very true mistakes are learning opportunities. Plus I have learned what I think is a fail someone else actually likes it. I love working with resin and will continue to do so as long as my pocketbook will allow. Lol.
Wow Rebecca! This is gorgeous. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it till you added the gold and the silver lines. Then it really popped. I absolutely love the 3D parts they’re me favourite. It kind of reminds me of some of Brett Whitely’s paintings. Ps your moon shaped opening totally looked like a smiling mouth with big crystal teeth for a minute there. Lol 😂 ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I love your videos. I've heard somewhere that if you go over the glue strings with a heat gun they will disappear. Wort trying.
Thanks! I don't unfortunately. :( There is a Facebook page if you search "Resin Geodes" and ask to be accepted. I know that there are quite a few people from India in the group. Maybe they could help?
Rebecca, I didn't think you could add a second coat of resin after the first had dried without sanding first. How many coats can you do? Can you just keep going? Love your work
Thanks for watching! Sorry I wasn't very clear on that point. When I pour with quick coat, I typically have my first layer drying at different times and with cracks and different heights and media so I don't have a smooth finish and my stones add a lot of bumps. I pour a clear flood coat right over those because there is a lot to adhere to. If I am doing a top coat on something that is already smooth, then yes, I would definitely sand first! I just don't do it that way often.
For this one, I taped the edges off level with the canvas and let the resin run over. Then I took the tape off and poured my clear coat so that the edges were shiny and coated in clear resin.
OMG i love your work!!! I'm new to this and as I'm watching this video, I really want to try and make this. Do you have a video of how you put topcoat and what you use as a topcoat?? THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING ME!!!
Thank you SO much for telling me that you want to try it! That's why I do the tutorials! I don't have a specific video on it yet. I will add that to my list of videos to create! The closest thing to a top coat tutorial would be if you were to watch the later part of my video #39. I talk through a bit of my top coat at the end of it. ruclips.net/video/nhwiG3IE0kU/видео.html
They look great, but to save even more time and money, have you thought about trying the foam boards that Sue Findlay uses? you could simply either dig out a channel for the hole, or take a hammer to it to form a depression.. the small canvasses seem to give you a lot more work to do.
Thank you! I couldn't give you the breakdown in terms of things like my blowtorch, etc... but I can remember most of it: canvases=$15, resin=$30, stones/glass=$5, crystals=$3, paint=$2, alcohol ink=4. Hope that helps!
@@MicaelaSkyy I know that a rule of thumb that a lot of people follow is to price their art anywhere from $.50 up to $1.00 or more based on their level of experience. Supplies can be inexpensive but time is a LOT! Ha ha!

Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
If you keep your glue sticks in the freezer and pull them out right before use there will be a lot less strings.
I didn't know that! Thanks for the tip!

Does ur cloth canvas lean down when u use resin on it as i tried it once and resin on the canvas became uneven

beautiful I love how they turned out and the colors are gorgeous
how much do they weight?
can u mix the sand 8n the resin first and then pour more sand over it
Yes! It will pour a little more chunky so you may have to move it into place with your stir stick.
Where can I go to buy one of your pieces and roughly how much would a commission piece cost?
Sooo beautiful! Do you sell them???
Thank you so much! I do sell my art through my Facebook page for now. You can message me there if you are interested. :)

I just started following her but haven't seen that yet. I'll have to check it out! Thanks!
Would love to know how expensive those foam boards are where you are? Over here it goes $Foam board > $Plywood > $Canvas(on sale).
wow how much would you charge for something like this? As a set?
I love them! Did your customer?
