Quick fix: Despite knowing Titan costs 700 credits, I mispoke and stated Titan costs 750 credits. I'm gonna give up on numbers lol. Thanks for watching!
Additionally despite what I've come to learn, the Baboon Hawk does not react to voices from crewmates. I still recommend a healthy dose of trash talk for survival, though.

The comedic, almost absurd atmosphere of multiplayer Lethal Company completely disappears when playing solo. Every risk you might not think about normally becomes potentially run-ending by yourself. It's actually impressive how different the experience is. With a few mods, solo can be really fun if you want to up the intensity from multiplayer.

Another buff for solo is certain enemies (like Snare Flea) are easier to deal with. Brackens can be stared at for much longer before they aggro. Eyeless dogs will no longer be around or near the ship because of a clueless friend who won’t stop talking because you have none! Jester is actually a lot easier to deal with in solo since as soon as you leave you know you just have to wait a couple of seconds to head back in, as you don’t need to wait for any teammates.

One thing that's interesting to me is that while going in deliberately solo is, as you said, frustrating and kinda often not worth it, there's something to be said about a multiplayer game *becoming* solo. Which I know is a bit outside the scope of the video, but it is something worth discussing.
Having your buddy, who was holding the walkie, suddenly and mysteriously die while you weren't looking changes the atmosphere *instantly*. Going from laughing and goofing to suddenly being alone, in the dark, and terrified. Having the person on the ship suddenly go dark leaving you wondering "Did something get them or are they being quiet because dogs?" while you're navigating the facility really takes the oppressive and lonely atmosphere you described and amps it up by directly contrasting it with the often bombastic multiplayer.

Another benefit of playing solo is that you don't have to worry about how often you snap your camera around.
Normally, with multiple people, whoever has the most camera movement is most likely to have the "Most Paranoid" note. This note increases your chance of being haunted by the Ghost Girl.
Since you are playing solo, there is no point in lowering your camera movement as you are already going to be the most paranoid, which means you can feel free to sporadically look around as a counter against Brackens. :)

    Some correction :
Baboon hawk : Think there's a youtuber that goes by the name Wurps who actually test this and the result is that the baboon hawk doesn't actually get scared by your voice, staring is enough to intimidate it(if it's alone)
Coil head : Coil head CAN open doors, it just takes around 10 second to open one (or just run through it without opening the door in most case)
And here are some of my tips :
#1 : If you're playing on mansion map (Rend and Dine) bookshelfs are high enough for you to use it to escape from most enemy
#2 : Ghost girl need some space to spawn behind you, so if you're haunted the safest play is having your back against the wall as much as possible to give yourself more time (since you're playing solo you'll eventually have to expose your back, this method only buy you more time)
#3 : While no tool build gives you more invntory space, I still recommend getting atleast 1 stun grenade and 1 key on the first trip from your ship and lave the stun grenade outside, this is to make sure that atleast you can survive against forest giant on your trip back to the ship
#4 : Earth Leviathan (the giant worm) can kill forest giant, so if you're that guy your girl told you not to worry about, you can lure the worm to kill forest giant

some tricks to dealing with turrets cause they are the most dangerous enemy 100%
    1. always be ready for the turret beside the entrance. on fire exits you gotta get used to turning around straight away
    2. turrets turn left and right so its easy enough to run past them most of the time without being spotted.
    3. you can lose a turret by running behind it (if theres space)
    4. smacking a turret makes it spin slowly in circles while firing bullets. you can't kill anything with the bullets but just maybe it'll save you one day if you need to lock its trajectory in a predictable path
    5. never use your stamina up in the building, good for surprise monster attacks and running to cover from turrets
    6. seems obvious but if you're surprised don't stop to look at it lol. instead follow number 5.
additionally turrets can continue to shoot at you through a door if they had already started to shoot when you get behind one so just don't use a door to break line of sight. has to be a solid wall, even pipes on the facility maps

Btw... If you're not scared of installing mods, you can use this mod to improve your Solo LC experience: AutomaticSignals
This mod makes it so the Signal Translator warns you about monters and can even teleport you, if you shake your camera violently.
It also disables turrets and opens blast doors.
Of course, there are also malfunctions.
For example, instead of teleporting you back to the ship, you might end up somewhere random in the facility.
Or it closes a blast door in front of your face...
With this mod, your average solo experience will be much better, since it sometimes feels like you're not actually alone, since something just saved you from that turret ^^

Brackens are the one thing I dread the most about playing solo because they're so damn quiet + you don't have that security blanket of others being there to potentially catch it for you, so you've gotta keep a more active eye out and just live with it getting painfully close to you on a not-uncommon basis
I don't personally find solo in itself boring though, if anything I've gotten bored lately of just, running the first 5 moons over and over for the early-game quotas even with others around
They aren't bad moons by any means, Experimentation is fine by me despite being the "get your feet wet" moon but they don't give me nearly as much of a thrill (read: existential, paralysis-inducing dread) as the mansions of Rend and Dine nor Titan's sheer chaos anymore

Usually when i play solo, the Brackens never attack no matter how long i stare at them. Also you can reduce a lot of the unintended difficulty spikes through mods, making the game at least a little less punishing for having no friends, like bigger inventory, only loosing 50% of the scrap on your ship upon death, more time per day (for more trips back and forth since you have to carry everything by yourself), more stamina / less slow down due to weight and stuff like that.

As a newer solo player I myself have a deep primal fear of the bracken playing solo. I dont have anyone to look over my shoulders when I forget to do so, in solo lethal you cannot let your guard down but this also hinders you making you be less risky and way too cautious and inside facility is way more eerie then outside

Late on this comment but bringing a pro flashlight in solos will help prevent hauntings or at the very least will give you more time before they occur. You could always drop it outside the facility if you need to loot.
Speaking of looting, staying around the entrances (especially on the endgame moons) and looting is far better than over exploring. That is of course unless you get really bad RNG on loot drops.

  • @Eiroth

With how much extra cash you'll get when you only need to supply one player, I'm partial to bringing at least a flashlight and stun grenade, but being fully prepared to leave it behind immediately if gear presents itself. As long as you don't die, you'll have more credits than you can spend anyway!
Besides, having a weapon to deal with Masked is invaluable, since avoiding them while carrying loot is impossible

I've managed a 2.7k ish solo run and my only tip is that speed is of the essence. Rush that jetpack and rend/titan fees, get enough shovels to dump one each day. If you can rush the jetpack and master it, you can easily boost your average up from ~210 to ~360 on rend and titan. Focus on shallow breath-wise exploration and prioritize single handed loot.
I like to use items as checkpoints to both reduce weight and lead me back to the exits.
Once you have a full inventory and if things aren't too hot on the moon yet, leave a trail of items and go deeper. You should be able to get 3~4 trips back and fourth to the ship per day.

I definitely enjoy the challenge of solo... The ceiling of what is theoretically possible is actually quite high. My current quota record is 1417/2368 @ 212.8 scrap value per day. I played really safe on that run, mostly went to Assurance, with a few trips to Rend near the end as a little extra push. I think it would be possible to eclipse 400+ scrap per day if you were to start going to Rend on the second quota, though you really have to balance the risk vs. reward of trying to find loot and carry it back later in the day.

I inverted tp into an eclipsed Titan only for my friend to break immersion and inform me that a massacre had occurred in the ship and that our run was likely over. I was just running hog in the maze, encountered a Jester and made a fire exit just as the Jester started to gain speed. My friends activated the early depart and I sat on top of the ship, shit scared as a giant circulated the ship while dogs walked under it. I barely made it out and miraculously, the loot I picked up from the inverse run was enough to just make our quota.

I think the developer made the solo experience as a: Here. It works; however, I am going to focus on balancing and tweaking the multiplayer experience.
There is nothing wrong with this. I assume Lethal Company was built with multiplayer in mind, not singleplayer. I think the following needs to tweak to not make it super punishing for those wanting to play alone:
Make divide Quota requirement by 4.
Make passage of time slightly slower to account for how more cautious players need to be.
Tweak monster AIs that are designed to be handled by more than one person like the flea and springy boys.
Slightly increase carry weight max and maybe increase item slots by 1.
Have solo-only equipment designed for single-player but never port to multiplayer as they would probably be OP. Like a special goggles that warns you of potential threats but only specifies vague things about the threat that still makes it unknown to the player costing a lot to acquire, though. Or, a "sonic" shotgun that can only be used once can kill anything in one-hit; however, it makes all enemies immediately aggro and dazing you. Why that? Because it would be the ultimate double-edged sword, metaphorically, in Lethal Company.
Add a goddamn pause functionality. I always found it unacceptable when games have an online option and will forbid pausing the game when offline. I am looking at you FromSoftware.

I was able to get 577 from Assurance once, and that was without a gold bar or cash register.

Great fucking vid dude! One thing I will say as someone who constantly runs solo Lethal Company, zap gun is extremely useful. A zap gun can stun any enemy just like a flashbang (for a shorter time I'm pretty sure though). Also, zapgun on a spider or thumper with a shovel basically gurantees a kill

    • @Nikos.
      @Nikos.  4 месяца назад +1

Thanks for watching, and thanks for your support! Can you explain a bit further the use of a zap gun in solo play, my use of the zap gun solo only pins enemies while the beam is maintained on a target, so once the beam leaves the enemy it begins moving immediately, no time for shovel in those cases without a partner or teammates

    • @iMAOusuc
      @iMAOusuc 4 месяца назад

@Nikos. Yeah, of course! The zap gun has a pretty wide array of effects on different enemies. For example, its useless against things like Forest Giants in solo because all it does is make them drop other players. However for things like Loot Bugs, Thumpers, Bunker Spiders, and even Brackens it's a god send. Depending on how long you can maintain the beam, it can stun them for a few seconds after, giving you time to hit them. Keep in mind hitting them will break the stun, but it also puts them into a hurt animation so as long as you swing quick enough you can get a kill.
But for a lot of other enemies its the exact same as a flash. Coilheads get stunned and jesters temporarily stop their wind up.
Edit: The various wikis give great explanations on it's various effects btw!

The thing about solo that ruins the fun is the difficulty of monsters when combined. Today I had the biggest rage quit of my gaming history; walked into facility on Assurance and got a mansion seed with a nutcracker and a ghost girl shortly after. I just got into half of the map and I knew my run was dead ( I still had to get all the items to the ship). The combos get insane when you get same mobs but all of them targeting you.
And giants. Yeah. Impossible to avoid if you can't move around the forest style map like an animal.

a real quick bit of advice for solo runs i learned from astral spiff
usually when you get into a main area of a facility map two of the paths will lead out into short collections of explorable rooms and end early while the third will usually slap you right in the maze.
the maze fucking sucks, solo or otherwise. barely any loot drops there, its easy to get lost and monster can sneak up on you super easily. only go in there if you really need to and try to only find other rooms that aren't the maze.
the maze can wrap around multiple entrances though and if thats the case you should try the fire exit. if its also at the fire exit, just dont push your luck if youve got a ship filled with loot.

my advice: get only one flashlight at all times instead of no loot and DO NOT CONSERVE FLASHLIGHT BATTERY. Play in facility until flashlight runs out and try to leave the second the flashlight runs out. also don't be afraid to leave the flashlight behind to grab something worth 10% or more of the current quota. when you find a "dark maze" explore it sooner rather than later and hug either the left or right wall completing a full circle *around* the dark maze without getting lost or wasting time taking only what is most valuable. Keep with the strat until you need to hit higher level moons. Once you get there I recommend getting a jetpack the quota before to avoid the near omnipresent giants whilst holding the goodies and survive for as long as possible like that.

Actually, unless you're on Titan, the stun grenade is kind of mandatory for dealing with Giants. While they normally will at least sometimes eat one person and revert to non-hostile following 'curious' behavior, you have no such buffer here, and a single giant can end a run without proper preparations.
A good stratagem is to at least spend one run buying 4 or more stun grenades and bringing one with you on every trip inside, leaving it outside for last and, if possible, bringing one with you while you go back to grab it to ensure MAXIMUM GIANT CUCKING POTENTIAL.
