As a man you need to be selfless. Never tell your wife how hard you work to make her happy she won’t understand. Never do anything for her because you’re expecting appreciation from Her. Do it because it’s your duty. Christ in Heaven who loved us unconditionally and gave up his life for us will redeem you and he only is your role model. Never rely on a woman to be the source of your motivation or inspiration no matter how much you love her. Her nature will fail you when you feel you must have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Marriage is a school in which we graduate from only when we die. The only way to show a woman you love her is not by trying to impress her or make her happy ( for she can choose not to be happy when she has a reason to be happy ) but by bearing and tolerating all her weaknesses and short comings.

Bearing and tolerating weaknesses is literally an excuse to accept toxic behavior.

I cannot stand her attitude, she’s very disrespectful and ungrateful. Ask him to go to the grocery store good grief.

She actually has a point- she works every weekday at the hospital, helps her parents during the weekends, and does virtually all housework, while Caleb (who has far more time off than Catherine) just loafs and looks at inappropriate stuff online. Caleb could certainly get the groceries plus do other chores, like dishes and laundry, around the house instead of treating his wife like his maid. That would be more fair.@@scr1231

2 weeks ago, then tears started to flow on me, because it was the time when caleb receive a divorce paper from catherine.
This act show how unconditional love remain silent, and God will show it on thr right time at the right moment for Caleb to receive it fruitfull

  • @pennwoman

I believe Caleb realized his wrongs that contributed to their faltering marriage & as a final apology generously donated his savings to the benefit of his in-laws. However, it was an ultimate act of pure generosity & atonement at the hardest & most unlikely time to do it-when you’re receiving divorce papers. Catherine took a job because Caleb wasn’t contributing to repairs around the house. Instead, he was selfishly saving for a boat which she didn’t even want. So for him to throw it in her face that she chose to work FT was unfair. He was selfish & she felt uncared for & ignored & that’s why she was preparing to give him up through divorce.

Caleb isnt wrong though. Painting the door and better landscaping are wants, not needs. She was also leading a selfish life, treating him like a roommate and cheating on him with another man.

@@ImmigrantlovesamericaI agree that those home improvement projects were not necessary, but I don't believe that she was really selfish; Caleb was. He treated his wife like a maid demanding her to do all the housework while he lounged and looked at bad stuff on the internet. Catherine, on the other hand, worked full time at the hospital plus had to help her parents during the weekend, so she virtually had NO free time. Caleb certainly could have done a lot more to help her although he would ultimately do so by the end of the movie.

It goes to show that she wasn’t willing to. Give him a chance bc he wasn’t bowing to her every need. We all make mistakes in life but our ultimate goal is to work together and accept each other. I work with ppl that constantly put others down and put every one else in the spot light to make themselves look better but in reality there the prob. We should accept others despite our difference just like Christ accepted us!

I would rather ACCIDENTALLY take LSD laced candy and go on a nightmarish acid trip than to ever make a woman mad or sad!

It is the truth about the landscaping. Medicare would have covered most of the equipment, or the rental. This is actually very unrealistic. All you have to do is ask for doctors orders.
