You know - that's a great point and one I've never looked at from that POV. SF1 was never a really popular game though, while MKI was just huge at the time. I guess we just loved the gore.
i remember when this game first came out to the home systems. yes i preferred the one on snes because the audio sounded much better! however, this game was so unbelievable to me. then with Goro and the red eyes in the background scared me lol. but i including my other siblings couldn't stop playing!
well that and SF 1 wasn't too much of a fighting game. the only characters you could play as were Ryu and Ken, who were exactly the same and the special moves were incredibly hard to pull off (and did ludicrous amounts of damage). 2 is when fighting games started to become an actual genre.
Same with Street Fighter. SF2 was what everyone played and was marveled about, but what the fuck happened to SF1? Probably lying in some obscure console´s game library, and most certainly not nearly as good as SF2. It´s really hard to get the first try right, specially with original ideas. Not that either of them were the most original things to thought of, but you get my point.
The most awesome fatality of ALL MK versions.
The dark blue Sub - Zero wasn't playing around the second round.
0:52 made me lol
2:47 nice timing
15:06 And wow, there really is no applause for Kano...
+Justin Sison they applaud Kano, but it gets cut off as he makes his little roar lol

You know, this was more of a fighting game. Now they just juggle their way to victory.
I love Tekken. But this is so much better than Tekken...

This may be a stupid question, but what frame rate did, arcades run on. Was it 60fps, or am I giving arcades too much credit?
i would have said that johnny cage sucked but he is good enough to be in the tournament.
Were you playing on an emulator?
Daniel Pesina is everyone except Sonia
yes yes yes yes
Thought MKI was in fact very average. But when MKII came along THEN it was a world beater. Take away the fatalities and MKI is nothing at all.
SHUB ZHERO WINS
Can you teach us how to do the special moves and fatalities?
+Wyatt Macdonald
Sub Zero's fatality is -> down -> h.punch
His freeze move is down forward high punch
His slide move is hit block, low punch, low kick
Eu amo scorpion
