Last week I attended an AA meeting, and to my horror, each person present stood up and openly admitted to being an alcoholic. I'm not having these boastful drunkards repairing my car. I can only hope the RAC have more responsible employees.

I wouldn't renew with them. I had three different patrols over the past two months. The first was vaguely interested and at least made some effort. The second couldn't be bothered at all, simply telling me to take my car to a garage. The third just bemoaned his lot in life and how unappreciated and overworked he was. I urge everyone to think again before enrolling with RAC.

I was a RAC member but after a recient breakdown and a 4 hour wait with zero contact from the call centre I made other arrangements and am now a AA member because they come to deep space to help people and the RAC would not come to Killingworth.

I have RAC cover via Saga car insurance. After 4 clear years I broke down, I rang the Saga breakdown no. & got a voice saying you will be sent a email link, well I don't have data on my phone & expect to SPEAK to someone! It took 75 mins to speak to RAC via my saga home insurance who initially said they couldn't help me & finally relented & connected me. Poor & I won't renew my policy as this is how Saga now operates.

I am completely appalled and disappointed with RAC I've reported that my car keys are locked inside my car, yesterday 5th September 2023, 14:00 they are still not here and it's 10:31 6th sept 2023 they told me last night to get a hotel, so I did and I'm still waiting!

The RAC in Bentley stole my partner's car. She broke down and RAC assist took her car, and after telling her that there was a water pump problem, they told her her car was irrepariable.
They then convinced her to sign over a $10,000 VW Jetta to them for $300. They provided her with no reports of the car issue or and documents relating to the sale. They refused only yesterday to provide a single document relating to this scam. Absolute thieves.

I hv RAC membership for last 10 plus years. But last nigh for the first time in my life my car broken down called RAC for on hold for 2 and a half stuck on M1 at 1.30 am. At last gave up and called local recovery company to recover for £180. So paying 120 a yrsr for ten plus years 1200 plus for what. Its better not to hv and recovery cover waste of space. I m cancelling it today at least i am ready for that to call local recovery company when broke down without wasting and f ing money and time.

I have RAC via Saga car ins. After 4 clear years I finally broke down & rang breakdown no. to be told I will be sent a email link, well I don't have data on my phone & expect to speak to someone. I finally did after 75mins via my Saga Home ins. who said they couldn't help but finally did. Saga & RAC are pretty poor & this was my first ever help wanted after 5 clear years. Will not renew this year.

I have RAC via Saga car ins. After 4 clear years I broke down & rang the breakdown no. A voice said I will be sent a email link msg, well I don't have any data on my phone & expect to speak to someone, it took 75 mins to get thru via my Saga Home policy! who were reluctant to help me but finally relented. Saga are pretty poor now cutting back on everything, but like you I'm disabled & they just don't care. The RAC patrol came after a small wait & helped fine but if you breakdown you need to speak to a person not emails. I won't renew come Dec either Saga or RAC.

Does this direct contact with the help centre still apply ? my partner who is Chinese lady was with the AA but they use a digital/menu system, which is difficult for her to navigate through, so she is looking for a breakdown provider that allows her to call direct to a person via the breakdown number ! Thanks.

I have been trying since 31/08/2018 to get a resolution to the problem with my vehicle OY59XGO & all they do is come back to me with further silly questions. I'm only dealing with RAC because RAC are the company used by my insurers Aviva who refuse to deal with the problemPrevious experiences with AA & Green Flag could not be faulted. It is looking now as if I will need to take a legal case against them

I'm sorry but I have had terrible experiences with rac, you have a total disregard for people and there safety.
if your so sophisticated as you maintain by your own admittance, why can't you give people an accurate time, why can't you be honest!
It's ok you sitting there bragging, but it's not the way your doing things, your talking about your absolute maximum potential, when your running at 5 %.
I apologise if this seems unfair, but it's 100% genuine, rac have repeatedly offended me, so now it's everyman for himself.

Sadly. the only 'happy' RAC customer is one who hasn't broken down yet!
I've been let down by the RAC on too many occasions and their broken promises have left me very frustrated. It didn't used to be like this.
The RAC still has great patrols but maximises its profits by providing a cut price and overstretched service that regularly fails its customers by leaving them stranded for many hours and even for days.
The RAC knows that avoiding their responsibilities results in untold chaos and misery, but undertrained and uncaring call centre staff break promises and let motorists down day in day out.
'Customer care' effectively manage this shambles by using complex terms and conditions and a range of 'cut and pasted' excuses to ignore or dismiss any complaint in any circumstance.
