Won’t make a difference, there’s too much money in the business of homelessness
How so? Tell us? Tell us who the entities are making so much damn money off homelessness. I’ll bet you can’t articulate your tin foil hat conspiracy theory in any cogent way.
and anyone can beome homless and rch, so baniing aint gonna make justice or a diffference or solve things, akak its the greedy rich and those whom they bribe in court, just so they get get te whole nation to discriminate those whom nto rich and convert lower class into slvery
How about helping the homeless in our country, instead of helping other countries. It's our tax dollars you are spending to help other countries but refuse to your own.
It’s on purpose… they want debt slaves
I have a suggestion, protests outside the mayor and governor's office. When the police arrive, tell them you are seeking asylum in your best foreign accent.
Or just say. Ur from Canada, requires less acting skill.
The mayors voting record should be checked to find out if racketeering and monopoly was ever part of her agaenda a class action suit against those who are directly responsible for creating homelessness should ensue .
I am not convinced that home prices are the root cause of homelessness.
Drive through Eugene, OR, lot of homeless people, homes are not expensive in Eugene, OR.
Any homeless person if he is addicted to drugs has two options either go to drug rehab or go to prison.
Government should help people who are not addicted to drugs, support them with rent, help them find job.
That’s exactly the problem. The ones who are addicted are the visible homeless folks sleeping in parks and sidewalks….
correct- the majority of homeless in our country are drug users.
You’re not convinced because it’s not.
@@beverly9 Yes it is, your reasoning is the reason why homelessness in America is overwhelming.
It's because of drug use, plain and simple.
@@createinmeacleanheartohgod6871 You didn’t understand my comment. I said (indirectly) that home prices are not the root cause of homelessness.
Ya know, no one mentioned that most of the homeless population is on drugs or have serious mental health problems. Sotomayor should come and speak to small business owners & people in the neighborhood and see what they say
Don't hold your breath
Agreed, or they have mental health issues that are induced by the drugs. We can’t keep bandaiding this problem. We need to address all the contributing factors. But that’s wishful thinking in our country. Arresting people doesn’t help and cops aren’t trained to deal with the mental health aspect of things. It’s such a hard problem to solve.
@@aleleeramos never been done, so is the solution for tax payers to pay for jails
@@aleleeramoswe don’t have a health care system that will ever solve that
Why is America looking after homeless people from other countries when they don't help the ones in U.S.
Because stupid governor's like desantis and abbot send them to other cities on buses and planes while they're getting their political asylum cases litigated.
It shouldn’t ever let people camp on the sidewalk
You mean "Make"?
That's what I say! Find a place in the woods if they need to live outside.
Open your house.
and why allow it....many of these people should be in institutions. which we had until Reagan.
No dude; dismantle housing accumulation by Big Investment and foreign investors. We need our housing available for everyday living, not for maximum wealth extraction.
This is fascinating. Everything is talked about except what causes homelessness. Rents that have skyrocketed.
Don't do drugs. Eat your vitamins. Apply for 10 jobs a daily. Take showers and wesr clean clothes. Save your money. I promise you will not end up here.
usually true, but there are some people who have both lost their jobs and have a health issue at the same time. nut agree- the majority are drug users.
Why don't you hire them?
I was really glad when the city finally installed curb ramps at the corners a few years ago. This made it easier to get to my office. But then last year tents popped up along my route and I had to go out into the street, and walk on the traffic side of parked vehicles, to get around them. I could have woven my way through, but there were also people laying or sitting on the sidewalk. I have trouble walking, and detouring to other streets from where I park to where I work might be easy enough for some, but for me every step makes a difference. The city's should have the ability to relocate homeless people to the fairgrounds or closed schools. My employer lets me work from home now 3 days a week, but still the sidewalks should be kept clear.
Please send homeless to camp in front of Sotomayor's home! Im sick of the liberal hypocrisy
Meanwhile half the city is vacant buildings
Give the people a living wage!!
Nothing to do with wages.
Most of these people are addicted to drugs.
It's hard to make a living wage when you're have drug, alcohol problems or mental problems
These people don’t work lol
You want to pay for their drugs?
They need to put a cap on living costs because raising the wages will only cause everything else to rise.
Give all the homeless a monthly stipend, free food, the best hotels to stay in instead of giving to migrants. Illegal migrants get everything they need to survive and prosper but the homeless Americans are thrown to the streets with no assistance. Shame America.
But they have 95 billion dollars to give free to other countries. Ok
Just send them to jail until they sober up. At least there they can get medical, dental, vision, therapy, 3 meals a day, shelter, exercise. In return, they can do some mundane manufacturing jobs like they do in China to help keep the items of goods down here in the US. It's a win-win if u ask me.
How about using some of those tax dollars being sent overseas to build some affordable homes? Or some of these politicians cough up some land.
Government should never be in the business of building homes.
I totally support our government building very affordable housing for WORKING PEOPLE, WHO HAVE NO DRUG USE AND NO CRIMINAL RECORD. most of the homeless are drug users.
When you have no skin in the game, you don’t give a crap. Why should that person get free housing while mistreated people have to work and pay for what they have.
So you give free housing. Who is paying the monthly water, gas, electric and garbage bill? Who pays to maintain the property? What happens with the place is trashed? Mist homeless are also on drugs!!! The more you help, the more the problem grows. Why work if the government will just pay for everything and then be able to sit around doing their drugs and robbery to pay for those drugs.
@@rowyourboat5361 actually most homeless folks have more mental health issues that leads to drug abuse and crime. Now we know these folks weren't just dropped off on our doorsteps, no they were born into our families and should be treated as such. Your kids may grow up just like em with you as a parent.
@@gund89123 the government is in the business of buying up land tho and they turn land into money ventures, and therefore should be responsible for housing their slaves.
All the abandoned vacant buildings in GRANT’s Pass should be renovated by the housing authority and made available to residents who live there and have a job; or receive a monthly government check and the housing authority could have a cost sharing arrangement with them.
Stop giving them free stuff make them work or do community service for rhe free food and services. Make them pass a drug test.
These people need help. Build affordable housing and shelters.
They should go to local shelters… common sense that they should not be sleeping in public
They don't want to go because there are rules. Others will say it is too far .
@@sylviamaresca8852 not including the rules. They sleep in an open shared
space where they can be assaulted, robbed, r4p3d, unalived! Maybe if they
got a private room, then they will probably be willing to accept!
Why not help these people then
Where was this ten years and a billion dollars ago?
If the judge says cleaning the encampment is illegal SF needs to send the homeless over to the superior court building sidewalk and their sidewalk of their homes. SF is sick and tire of the homeless and unsafe environment that caused by homeless for citizens of SF which is my family and I!
Why don't cities with homeless people assign a little piece of land and hand out tents. Have the police patrol and have rules. I lived on the streets too.
Because this would intmidate their drug dealers.
Because they are getting filthy rich pretending to care about it
When they make it illegal rent will sky rocket.
Because they simply wouldn’t take the offer since the rules will restrict them from living freely
Why "common sense" is not common😮?
What about unapartmented?
That's discrimination from the store owner
Make it illegal and provide MANDATORY housing. They do this in many cities in Europe and guess what-no homeless. We just can't get it together here.
Most of these homeless people don't wanna go to shelter because they don't wanna follow rules.
They are required to clean the space, don't do drugs, no drinking etc.
These people are beyond repair.
Is it not a human rights violation to allow citizens of one’s country to live inhumanely? They need help, not punishment.
It's not just California. It's all over the place people wake up. It's from here to new york and miami and everywhere else
Hiya Folks are some feel good words to get you trough election day
after that i guarantee you it will be all back to business as usual
the homeless industrial complex it's way too big to fix
im not against homeless people but parks and streets and sidewalk is not for them, there should be a place for them or the city would find some place where they can camp on not just anywhere they want, common sense so that we have order common supreme court
And who pay for this place. Who pay for check-in and check out of these people, who pay for land leased, who pay security of these places and trash removal, who pay for restroom maintenance, who answer us immediately!!! We spent money for helping overseas, disregard our own problems at home... This ultimately lead for introduction of Term Limit or Revolution like you never seen in your lifetime!!! BTW Jail is not free, every jail inmate cost 55,000 dollars annually, and they are overcrowded!!! Leave homeless people alone, instead built REAL Cheap and Affordable Housing!!! US is almost bankrupt, that's the case... what Chief US Supreme Justice suggested that homeless be arrested and then argue their case and Constitution rights in lengthy and costly legal processing... That's cost Taxes to Skyrocketed to star high, that overwhelm courts to hear real criminal cases, also other consequences, I think Chief Justice Roberts must be resigned, he can't read Constitution and it's amendments!!! Karma is following this Supreme Court... God is watching... Revolution is upcoming more quicker in your lifetime...
if homeless allowed to camp on just somewhere ,there will be a time that people will camp on the middle of the street. there should be laws to be followed and besides our country is so big for every body so why on the streets sidewalk and park why find empty spaces and allow people to camp and the long term is build affordble houses for low income people
There are already people camping in the streets. Last week I saw a lady just plopped down in the middle of the right hand lane in front of that homeless kitchen on Potrero Street. Cars swerved around her and she just looked up at the sky smiling.
Let the homeless camp in the woods instead of destroying the most valuable real estate (cities).
Have the homeless camp in front her house and her office building of the executive lady
Send homeless too live in the White House, VP residence, vacant DC ofc buildings, state officials homes, and member's of Senate and Congress homes . Time too take back our country one politician home at a time..Getting ready for house guests!!!!
People aren't homeless. they just need to contact their parents/children/friends
Not if their families are abusive like my family is.
@@winning3329 That's true. Then perhaps an NGO can help? There is no reason to be homeless. There's always people willing to help in society
This problem could be solved overnight if the court requires that ADU's be allowed on private property in all US counties. Rents would drop immediately because the market would be saturated with new housing options (paid for by the homeowners, tied into existing infrastructure, etc.). People can't afford rents. If rents were lower, more people would rent which would leave the shelters open for those who can't pay. Counties would not have to pay a dime for additional housing for the homeless... let the homeowners do it if they want to. Guess what? We want to!!! We need granny flats for aging parents, grown kids who are struggling, additional income in our retirement and on and on. One law would change it all.
Anti-constitutionalist, eh? Reeks of socialism
That's NOT the question, It's criminally charging a person for the "sole reason" of being homeless.
Yes they on drugs then in jail to get force rehabilitated from drugs
Vacancies minus homelessness equals more Vacancies
..what do you mean by that
? Authentication and security systems and services definition overall will help the homelessness process immediately to one out of thousands of thier homes.
Not enough shelters? I call BS. Most and I mean 99% of the homeless wants to stay homeless because they like the lifestyle. They don't have to work, they can just be lazy all day and the best part.. no one to tell them they can't do drugs. Drugs and drug use is not allowed inside shelters or govt. provided facilities so they all stay outside.
Are they paying rent to camp on the street?
Allow people in San Francisco to take in the homeless as part of their family and this will solve homelessness.
and as being the good bleeding-heart leftists they are it should 'not' be a problem...
I like to no where these people of going .
We need to petition the Supreme Court to remove (in god we trust) from u s money! Its a blasphemy. No, in money you trust and place all faith
San Francisco's an island get them off the island That's the way you get rid of homelessness
Stop using drugs, get clean, get a job so you can support yourself.
And the gap is widening. You might be there tomorrow !
the majority of homeless in our country are due to drug use.
Cities are housing immgrants at record rates and giving free healthcare and food Why can the cities do the same for our own people ?
National forsest ? National parks only rich can aford those camp ground.
humans lived outside and slept on the ground for millions of yrs so to make it a crime is looney crazy and even making the lawmakers a criminal in a system that does not have decent temp housing while job trained n placed n give lots good fast job training and life basics free in schools and churches one night a week and job placement help and decent min wage that gos u with the cost of living
Crazy.
Presidio is PERFECT FOR TENTS
With the billions California spent on homelessness, they could re design Alcatraz. Cots, showers, toilets. Services all in one spot.
@@sylviamaresca8852 Treasure Island might be a better fit
Lets open the border and let 20 million more homeless people in.
Get a job… get off the dope… buy your own property
Damn looks like the walking dead
Let's di soilent green!
Millions for the Panda from China but a few hundred for the homeless.
Hundreds? Do a little bit of research and you’ll learn that the services homeless receive in SF is in the tens of thousands per person. This doesn’t even cover the medical, which can be in the hundreds of thousands.
CA spent $12B on homeless people in last 3 years.
It's actually HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars. Most of that goes for housing the homeless either in temporary shelters or long term housing.
California spent 24 BILLION DOLLARS on the homeless
Ukraine. Taiwan. Israel. Come see where all your money went.
Repurpose Alcatraz into a treatment and transitional living community
And how do you get them to voluntarily accept this?
@@Ret_Chrogames court ordered
@@stepheno.2730 Who will enforce it if they decline? Law enforcement don’t really handle mental health calls anymore.
@@Ret_Chrogames court ordered by the judge. Mandatory treatment.
They used to inforce a camping/transient law on the emancipated slaves to force the black people to stay slaves🏛
😮
no one is forcing these people to remain on drugs- and most of the homeless in our country- ARE DRUG USERS.
And? That isn’t relevant to our current situation. These people are either choosing to be homeless due to not wanting to partake in society, drugs have a stranglehold on them, or they truly are down on their luck. That has absolutely nothing to do how slaves were treated over a hundred years ago.
I like Atherton but I cannot afford it. Can I camp outside of Steph Curry’s house and not get arrested?😂
I promise I will pay my taxes!
as long as you pay your taxes and vote for the Demonrat Party you should be fine
@@jannyzhingaz9562
You probably didn’t watch the whole video, CA government went to Supreme Court, judge in Boise put restrictions on government.
CA government want freedom to remove homeless people from the streets.
@@gund89123
o yeah I'm pretty sure that's what CA government wants 😉 I mean after all it's only the biggest money laundering scam they have going with absolutely cero regulations or a transparency and accountability to the taxpayers since every organization that's out there receiving federal money to "help" the government it's a "nonprofit" organization marking them except from scrutiny and accountability
Honey wake up and smell the open sewer that's the homeless industrial complex
Try not disqualification of shelter based on addiction! It's pretty simple
Kick folks when they are down...go figure...just saying
most of these people are drug users- by choice.
2:10 😂
Remember that nobody is immune to becoming homeless.
All it takes is a crippling illness or accident and you can't work and can't pay rent and nobody will take you in.
STOP LAUGHING AT JENNIFER FRIEDENBACH THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COALITION ON HOMELESSNESS!!!!! THAT IS SO NOT FUNNY!!!!!
Are we still pretending Democrats aren’t encouraging homelessness to fund nonprofits?
TOTALLY FALSE.
Such misguided energy. If america had to choose between saving dogs or homeless people, i wonder how it would go😂
Keep em off the damn sidewalks
