  • Oregon City Bans Being Homeless, US Supreme Court Appears Divided | Firstpost America
The US Supreme Court heard arguments regarding whether cities have the authority to ban homeless individuals from sleeping outside, amid a nationwide surge in homelessness and limited shelter availability. The case revolves around regulations implemented in Grants Pass, Oregon, which has prohibited camping or the use of bedding on public property due to overcrowding in public parks with tents, blankets, and cardboard shelters. Violators of the ban face fines ranging from $290 to $500 and even face potential imprisonment for repeated offenses. Grants Pass has population 40,000, but does not have a municipal homeless shelter and instead relies on private charities. The US Supreme Court is worried that other cities will follow Grants Pass and outlaw camping on public property.

We spend 10 times that on our own military, and it's only 1.5% of our total budget. I think we have the money for literally anything, because Modern Monetary Theory is 100% true and correct. Capitalism RELIABLY produces homeless people. Any system is what it DOES, not what we wish it could or would do. The American people don't have the moral will to do the right thing, because we're all sick in the head.

In other words, the demons think that right is wrong, and wrong is right. This has been going on for thousands of years, and the only way to end it is to rise up against it and defeat it:
Tolerating oppression is the worst sin of all. People must rise against a tyrannical ruler. If the oppressed do not resist oppression, then they are as responsible for their condition as is their oppressor.
      -- by Guru Gobind Singh
We will not tolerate tyranny of any kind, whether it is spiritual, social, economic, or political. All Sikhs must confront and combat injustice, oppression, and cruelty.
      -- by Guru Hargobind

We must ask ourselves, "What will happen when AI has taken 85% of jobs present in 2020? What will we do? How will we eat and survive without incomes from jobs or other means?" What is disturbing is that while AI is taking these jobs, the gov't and the corporations have not done ANYTHING to prepare us for an AI'ed civilization. They have not said anything about major retraining of an entire economy to something else, and they have not followed up on a discussion of universal basic income. This is supposedly supported by a lack of information in the latest government budgets submitted and approved as reported by some RUclips videos.
It appears that the US gov't and the corporations intend to kill off the majority of Americans passively, through starvation from lack of income to buy food. (check and see if farming production is declining or will start to decline ahead of the "starvation phase") (also check to see if the "makeup" of robot equipment allocation would change to reflect a trend away from retail and services for the masses, possibly indicating an extinction of the American public - this means taking a robot from Chipotle and repurposing it for some other job not related to the public, or scrapping affected robots to be remade for some other purpose that has nothing to do with the public) It appears that the decline of farming has already started with the state of Maine buying farm land under the pretext that there are "forever chemicals" present at around 20 parts per TRILLION (safe level is said to be only 4 parts per TRILLION), which does not make sense, BUT this would rope in a LOT of land across the US. Other states may follow suit in addition to the ten states that have similar laws in place.
This way, there are only enough people alive to get some things done, and the rest is done by AI, and the survivors who planned this can claim the whole country for themselves. Imagine having an estate mansion half the size of a mall on several dozen thousand acres of land, and robots would be used to maintain and clean the estates and do the farming FOR THE ESTATE OWNERS. The White Man's wet dream of civilization. What will the Native Americans south of the US border do when they see this coming, especially when they can buy firearms legally now? Hopi prophecy...

@@-lost8092 But, I'm not sure why the op claimed "affordable housing" was a right, within the settler colony of the US. That's NEVER been one of the settlers rights lol. The US settler colony has ALWAYS been a capitalist state. This means by default, like all capitalist states; some will always go without. It's literally impossible for that to be a right, inside America. If it were a right, who would define "affordable" and what protections would there be for the seller, if it were a "right" since it couldn't be taken away? It's not possible to declare housing as a right (affordable or otherwise) inside a capitalists state. It doesn't even make any sense. I have no clue where they came up with that.

This is only going to get worse and they know it. This is a result of the current administration that has taxed everybody completely out of their homes, jobs, vehicles, etc. Instead of them wasting taxpayers money on putting them in jail, why don't you build some more shelters or get some housing for the homeless. Create more free Drug and Alcohol Residential Recovery Homes. Most addicts need help getting clean and sober. A facility to monitor them and give them pharmaceuticals to help withstand the withdrawal process. Medical staff to assess physical and mental health status. Referrals to social services to help the houseless become self~supporting and stay off the streets. It worked in the 80’s in California and it will work again. Let’s do it!✝️

We now are getting close to having 1,000 billionaires in the United States. Many of whom became that way off the labor workers being paid shit wages having to work second jobs to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Over 750 billionaires who spend a large sum each year to indirectly pay the lowest taxes. My last 10 years self employed I paid 49% of my gross earnings to FICA. The billionaires paying so little enables them to have more multi millionaire executives who receive 1,2 and 3 million dollar bonuses than ever in history. Greed begets more greed and the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. People then say they are the dregs of society and all hooked on drugs. First of all they were not always hooked on drugs. Secondly when families are barely getting by it doesn't take much of a crisis to wind up breaking people down and their will to live. Drug addiction and suicides are at all time historical rise. Our government would actually end up saving money if they taxed the ultra rich a little more and spent it on mental health ,treatment centers that take in on a sliding scale instead of a cushy place for wealthy addicts. And housing for all. We have enough empty abandoned houses for ever single homeless person to get 24. 24 empty houses for every single homeless person. Of all the houses in the US 10 percent are abandoned.
