The Willys MB I had many moons ago, had large water drain holes front and back of the body sump and it sure looked like that’s how it was made, it also had a foot that when you mounted the spare tyre it sat on, to help mount it on the carrier. Regards Frank
Thanks for sharing Frank! There are drain holes right by the support pillars at the edge of the driver and passenger foot wells. They came with little pipe plugs. and are about 3/8 or maybe 1/2 inch. I don't think there was drainage in the rear floor originally but they made so many changes that I would not swear on it. As for the spare tire foot - there are a couple of variations of the spare tire mount.....the later style had the support bracket (like your jeep) because the rear panel kept cracking from the weight of the tire on the earlier jeeps. I don't have a spare on there right now and I am a little worried about this cracking issue over time....there is a mod that adds two supporting gussets that I need to do at some point - more welding and grinding ;-)
I had a heck of a time getting my repop gas tank installed properly also. I didn't even think about backing up the fitting and gave the fuel fitting the full beans. Glad it didn't break off, not sure what I was thinking.
I know some might say that I'm a stickler but after drilling that access hole in the floor, primer should have been applied to the raw metal to help keep rust at bay.
Australia and I got a real hard time for even using a metric spanner on my Jeep ( sacralidge) would be putting it lite with some of these old Jeep mechanics
We have that crowd here too. I just got called out for potentially putting the wrong registration number on this jeep. I used a well-known resource to help determine the number - maybe it is right and maybe it is wrong...but the manner in which the information was conveyed was intended to embarrass me. Ha! Small minds deserve to be ignored.
I have been there. Just be respectful and do more listening than talking. Offer to lend a hand. The crusty nonsense will stop soon enough. Most importantly, enjoy!
your gas tank run out// to the motor for your gas line is on the high part of your tank //you only using 1/2 the fuel in your tank //its not the right hole or tank // the gas runs to lower tank as you use the fuel
Appreciate the thought Christopher...but....you are mistaken. This is the correct fuel pickup line. There is an internal tube that goes to the bottom of the tank and ensures that all of the gas can be used.

Welcome and thank you for introducing yourself! You might enjoy our weekly show that we launched on our own platform....www.portrayal.tv Cheers!
There should be another angled body panel that goes in between the tank and the fender for the rubber strip to slip over.
I like the way you go at it,
Thanks for stopping by Rudie and for the comment!

Glad it worked out for you though! It is a lot of fussy work to get these machines back together again, but it sure is worth it in the end!
Great , Patrick, Looking nice, to cold here today to work on my 42
