It's important to note that if an audio track is not perfectly consistent during repeated sections, such as verses or choruses, or if it includes a "go to coda" in the score, syncing the score with the audio throughout will be unfeasible. This is because a performer may vary the timing slightly on repeated song sections. Therefore, even if the first verse is perfectly synced, subsequent repetitions may fall out of sync. A workaround is to create a new GP8 file without any repeats or "go to coda" sections in the score. The song should be written out completely from start to finish in an uninterrupted score. This approach may extend a 3-page score to 6 or 7 pages due to the absence of repeats. However, this method ensures that once completed, the score remains in sync throughout the performance, regardless of repeated sections.
As of June 2024, GP8 does not offer the feature to mark audio sections according to the number of times they are played in the score. It would be beneficial if future updates included this feature. Until then, for songs with timing variations in repeated sections, the score must be laid out in a single, continuous sequence without repeats. You are welcome. 😋

A very good point! If the track was recorded to a tempo map (click) without tempo changes then it is feasible of course. (Which a lot of modern music is)
I wonder how they could address this moving forwards? 🤔

This is a great video, simple and straight to the point, very informative. It is also an excellent feature within GP8 if like me you don't like MIDI music

I use GP8 for my drumming and I sync every quarter note, takes bloody ages but worth it.

Definitely dude! Our drum teacher uses it as he's teaching (as I do) to great success! I cant wait until they work out a way to do the syncing for you. (Using AI)

Great tutorial. Been trying this on my GPro 8 trial period. This may sound a stupid question. Is the tab being synched to the audio or vice versa? I don't want to change the timings of my backing tracks as I like to add them to videos

I am very glad you enjoyed it and found it useful! 😀
It's the tab being sync'd and not the audio. The audio cant (as far as I am aware) be manipulated beyond pitch shifting. 🙂
