Music Video Interpretation: The girl gets a chance to go to prom with super-popular-jock boy. She doesn't particularly like him, but she accepts because it increases her chances of becoming Prom Queen. However, things don't go as planned and her date ditches her for some basic girl. She's really sad about it, but halfway through a boy comes in and steals her attention from everyone else in the room. The boy gives her a chance to get revenge on the guy (or "backstab" him, if you will) , by making him jealous of her romance with the new boy. Then, the girl realises she actually has some sort of feelings for the new guy and isn't just using him to get back and random douche. That's how I see it at least :3

At risk of sounding like a serial killer... This really bugs me. When the pretty black haired girl is 'killing' the dude, she isn't putting nearly enough force behind her arm to actually pierce flesh. If anything, she was poking him with the knife. It would have been much more efficient if she raised it over her head, letting gravity+her muscles bring the blade down harder. Also: she should have used an underhand, jerk upward into his stomach because again, you have more force behind the blow. While overhead is scarier I think results matter more...
