Try avs4you for recording screens. You can record, edit, add audio etc. There are also many effects like zoom in and out.

I know this video is old and I usually program drums...but just curious about what kind of microphones you use...I mean specific brands of mics for each drum you mic? Thanks

Been testing Camtasia..can't get system audio to record still have to loop it back thru to camera. Going to try Cam Studio

dude this is 2014, no cams allowed if you want to be professional.
use a mixing board to group the signals bro. (then send that grouped signal in to your interface.)
if you don't have a board, change your driver to MME temporarily.
in preferences/drivers.In Sonar you only have 3 choices. if your audio interface is using ASIO (like most good ones do), just simply change it to MME.
now this isn't good if your recording material because of the latency
but to do videos like this it will playback audio and let you use your mic taking advantage of windows system audio.
this video with the cam is killing me man, this looks like a fun house mirror.
(music is good though, reminds me of neil young stuff) good luck man.

I thought the song was going to suck but it's not bad... a little alternative and stuff... like how he says 'the guitar'..... will watch the 2nd video if it gets better... so far I learned to default everything back to 0!

this may be very late and for that I apologize. I too have a liquid saffire 56 but every time I use it to record in sonar, even platinum I get clicks that I cannot get rid of. any

I'm just getting into recording, do u think sonar is not overly complicated and an ok choice for me? Can u run it on a Mac or only on a PC?

Larry Tate Mac has other choices. I think best is Logic 9 to get into. On PC, this thing looks very promising! I am not quite sure if it is beginner friendly since I am not a beginner anymore, I had my hands on the real stuff, like a Neve rs with Pro Tools HD (PT is ... YUCK!)
