Sonar X3 Liquid Saffire Adding Drum track - Child
Awesome video. It helped me get my Xtouch working perfectly. However, I'm hoping that you help me in connecting 2 units. I have Sonar X3 and Two X-touch units. I know it's overkill and I probably should've gotten and Extender but I was able to get a second unit for a great price. I'm having trouble using both units together (cascading) as Sonar doesn't detect the 2nd unit. I've tried everything from directly connecting them to the computer, to daisy chaining, and also Mackie Control and Mackie-XT mode. They both work great individually but not together. Can you help? Any ideas?
Great videos. Is there a document that lists all of the working commands in cakewalk? So that we can refer to it e.g. what all the modifiers are able to do combined with various buttons? That would be brilliant.
When we press the arrow keys, it highlights the tracks on the "Track View". How to highlight the buses on "Console View" using the arrow keys?
The Behringer site has changed. Sonar changed to Cakewalk. Where to find the overlays?
Le lien ne fonctionne pas inexistants
God bless you sir for this video. It really helped alot
Great craftsmanship and style! Would love to have one of those Burns guitars. 😊
Coolest guitar players I know!
Thank you Very much for saving my ass with my wife. If I could not get the Xtouch to work I would have never heard the end of it. (For spending money)
Thanks for posting your videos. I just got the X Touch and I am learning my way around. Do you have any more videos on the x touch? Thanks
i can't find the overlay pdf anywhere. anybody know where i can find it?
Any way to fix fader lag??
That is some beautiful music.
Hi , can you tell me how to arm the red write button with the x touch , i have the overlay + i can disarm but not arm + secondly i set one of the F buttons to be delete but when i press it nothing gets deleted even if a track is hilighted i still need to use the mouse to go to tracks , then delete track ? hope you can help . Stixx
You sir, are AWESOME for putting up this info! Just setup my brand new X Touch with Sonar Platinum basically under your video guidance. This saved me from what would have most likely been a massive amount of headaches. Brilliant.
Congrats on your new toy! Plans for any modifications?
Hello guys .. I read that many of you need to get the Prochannel works and fortunately mine is working .. and even more if anyone would like to make any third party plugins work I’ll explain it .. it’s easy to do. Put your Emails .. will send you .. a modified MackieControl dll (no virus no harm) to replace the one in your DAW folder .. Im not the guy who did the work .. got it from someone who’s advanced in that stuffs ..and everything is working fine.. I got Sonar Crashs with the native Mackie Control by Cakewalk .. for now Thanks God.. everything is flawless ! Stay home .. stay safe !

allen.vanwert@gmail.com I need to get it to select and control plugins
Totally brilliant. I don't have the X Touch but I do have the Qcon Pro GR which has very similar functionality. It uses Mackie control, but thanks to you and your informative video on the mackie control app I am up and running without a hitch. The user manuals for Cakewalk and the respective hardware controllers is pathetic at explaing as you rightly point out. I followed their instructions and still had nothing working apart from he DAW identifying it was communicating with the hardware. I followed your video making the changes as you described and simultaneously had the controller come to life. Thanks so much, I still have my hair as a result.
Very good! Thanks for taking the time to do this. Invaluable for us new users of the X Touch. Note: At about 12:50 your inset screen blocks your demo of how to get to the "Mackie Control Window". It's the ACT box on the right side of the control bar in between "Screen" and "Markers" on my view (I think it's the default). Click on the little arrow at the bottom of the Act box and then again on the down arrow to select the "Mackie Control" and then follow along with the video. Also, there are now 4 additional check boxes under options in the control window. Must have been added since you recorded this. They seem obvious to me, but we'll see how they work. ;-)
Well Done! Thank you.
Because Behringer has totally changed their website here is a link to the template community.musictribe.com/t5/Mixing/X-Touch-and-Sonar/td-p/248966/page/2
This link is not working anymore either
b3en two years they've changed the site again.
Thank you lots for sharing this information. Way quicker and more complete than the QSG that comes with the device (and yes, I'm aware that Behringer doesn't officially support SONAR / CbB). BTW I've used this particular video to set up my X-Touch One (Behringer's smaller controller surface with just 1 fader) in Cakewalk by BandLab. So far, so good... Movin' on to watching your next video.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in these wonderful tutorials
Thank you for taking the time to explain the various functions and how to use them. You have saved many of us a huge amount of time and frustration. You, sir, are a star!
I have a super important question for you. I come from the old Sonar 5.8 version. In moving to Sonar Platinum I'm getting a message that some of the patches from the other version are still in the sequence. How do I get rid of those. This way I won't have that screen come up everytime I load a song. Thank you very much!!! Manny
BTW. These instructions work perfectly on the latest version of Cakewalk by BandLab too.
This is really helpful! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your extensive research on this subject.
Incredible video, and series! Thanx x a million ! I love Sonar X3!
You're a hero.
PLEASE: Can you make a video: how to get equalizer at the encoders work
Jones 2001 hello yes I know how ..! Put your mail and I’ll send you Mackie Control file to put in Sonar/Control surfaces to replace the one already there and you got your pro channel EQ working find and no more Sonar crash! For making the third party plugins work I’ll explain it for you .. I figure it out and it’s easy .. I don’t get at this moment the Xtouch in front of me but if you want it I’ll put a description..
@@catsven1973 jacobacastaneda29@gmail.com can you send it to me?
I spent a whole afternoon trying to get fader port classic to work with Sonar x2 and Bandlab, it seems that the new app simply does not have the Sonar profile any more, and I lost the will to live trying to find an older one, needless to say it went back to amazon. With the help of your post I set up X Touch One (single fader version) in a few minutes. I'll probably buy the 8 channel version soon. Perfect. Thanks AMP.
Fucking wasting my time Where is your fucking mastering skill
hahahaha
I am 4:36 into this and I can already tell you I like this guy. Down to Earth, easy going and to the point!GREAT JOB MAN !!!
at 13:43 you say "click here" to access Mackie Control -1 window. Your cursor is not visible on the screen, so I don't know where you clicked. I can't find this window in my Platinum program and don't find any other documentation in Sonar or online to point the way. Please clarify!
I guess this is too late but just in case, check under the 'Utliities' dropdown menu at the top left of the Sonar Interface. At the bottom you will see 'Mackie Control'. :-)
Thanks for this. You solved a bunch of basic problems that I was likely about to run into with my new X-Touch and Sonar combination.
Excellent follow-up to Part 1 -- thanks! Do you happen to have any info on using the newer X-Touch "Compact" with SONAR? Any videos, or info on getting overlays for that unit? Any info appreciated -- thanks again!
Excellent! 1 question...at around 13:43, I can't see the arrow...where did you click, to make the Mackie Control window open up? Thanks!!
Bit late to this video/playlist. I thought it was excellent.
Hey my friend..appreciated Checkin out yr mixing an mastering vids in Sonar! .. (Now of course we most know is "Cakewalk by Band Lab"!) Yayy!. .so what happened to the rest of, yr continuing parts man!?? Thx! Mike ~
I know this video is old and I usually program drums...but just curious about what kind of microphones you use...I mean specific brands of mics for each drum you mic? Thanks
Thanks!! just what I needed to see!!
This is great thank you so so much!!
This was a really great and simple video that helped me set up my X-touch. It will save you a lot of headache and he is right. The X-touch works perfectly with sonar.
Great Job!! This saves tons of headaches and down time figuring out this nice piece of equipment. Thanks a gain
This is great. I've been waiting for over a year to get back to going through the video.
Stupid question, but even though the buttons are labelled "wrong" for Sonar, could you not go in and just change the command that each button controls, to make it match Behringer's labels and not have to use a paper overlay?
Thank you again! Do you know if it's possible to control pluggins with the X-Touch?
THANK YOU!!!
