  • Hybrid boiler systems are becoming increasingly attractive when it comes to climate neutrality. Thanks to their design with an electric heater and burner, different energy sources can be used simultaneously. This creates flexibility and reduces dependence on fossil fuels. This is also the case at a manufacturing company in Spain. Three hybrid boilers from Bosch are used there, among other things for the production of animal feed ingredients. For the steam generation, the electric heating elements of the boilers use a total of around 17 MW of green electricity from the customer's own photovoltaic system. Additional steam demands are covered by the burners with a total output of around 20 MW. Since the plant is to use on-site electrolysis, the boiler and burner have already been designed to operate with up to 100% green hydrogen. In total, the hybrid boiler system can provide more than 50 t/h of steam.
