Edge of tomorrow is one of the best action movies in the last decade , Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt were amazing

I remember watching Long Kiss when I was 14 and I was so obsessed with the way Sam Jackson lit his Zippo that I became obsessed with Zippos and only used Zippos for the next 20yrs. This movie will always be a part of my life.

The Last Boy Scout would be one I’d consider worthy of being underrated.
That last boy scout was a real good action movie. I was really surprised when I watched it the first time. I would also put True Romance on the List and Thursday starring Thomas Jane.

Dredd was without question the best action movie on this list in my opinion. Karl Urban was fantastic and Lena Headey's Ma Ma was so great. I really wished we could have got a franchise with it. A Dredd movie that brough Judge Death into live action would have been so fantastic as well. It deserved more love than it got. One of the best non Marvel/DC comic book films ever.
Seriously, the Long Kiss Goodnight is so underrated. Its a crime. Attack The Block is awesome. Fantastic monster.

@@Metonymy1979 foreign are fine. 😊 as long as I can buy them. So what action movies do you have in your mind you can also include American. I may not be good with early decades since they may have less action but I know some in early decades have enough action

the fact there was no mention of Universal Soldier shows how under appreciated it is. Dolph lundgren is insane in that movie. One of my fav action movies ever.

Long Kiss Goodnight is a 90s kid classic it played constantly on cable
There’s 2 Brandon Lee action movies that don’t get enough love in my opinion, Showdown in little Tokyo (1991) and Rapid Fire (1992). Also an underrated action comedy with Christian Slater called Kuffs (1992).
Wanted - James McAvoy was incredible in this & people have been begging for a sequel for Years.
Ugh, I thought that movie was terrible. Curving bullets with your mind or whatever? Come on now. I get that it's a movie, and you're supposed to suspend disbelief...... But that just lost me.

It was one of the worst action films I've ever seen
I loved "Wanted". Loved the story. Super original, with incredible action.
Long Kiss Goodnight is a great Christmas movie its up there with Die Hard. so glad The Rundown and Rock'N'Rolla made the list both have great action, quotable lines, lots of humor and are criminally underrated.
Equilibrium with Christian Bale. This movie sold me on him playing Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Remembering when I saw him the first time as a kid in "Empire of the sun" and then years later in "American Psycho" and "Equilibrium". For me Bale is the best Batman ever. I don't want to put the other actors down (Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Ben "puppy dog eyes" Affleck), I like them in other movies. But no one sold the character of Batman so well to me as Christian Bale did. Maybe we have to thank Christopher Nolan as well for that.
The long kiss good night 🌙 deserves a lot more attention, I think it was misunderstood.

Hardcore Henry is an underrated gem for me, although if you don't like shaky cam, it's not for you. The entire movie is filmed from 1st person.

Some absolute must watch classics in this list- Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Edge of Tomorrow, Long Kiss Goodnight, Shoot 'em Up, Dredd, & Master and Commander.
"The Long Kiss Goodnight" was my wife's and mine's first movie together :) One of the best action movies with a very nice twist.
The Long Kiss Goodnight and Snow Piercer were both brilliant. They are well worth the time tot watch!
The Long Kiss Goodnight is 1 of the 5 favorite movies that Sam Jackson said he's stared in. It's a great movie that I love bringing up to people that haven't seen it.

Yes, "The Long Kiss Goodnight" is one of my favourite action movies, and Geena Davis is terrific in it. "Argylle" was definitely inspired by it, in more ways than one.
Dredd, Demolition man, Edge of tomorrow, rundown, upgrade, shoot em up, are all excellent. Snow piercer is so good. J Lawrence should watch the long kiss good nite.
If you want to see amazing action watch 13 assassins.

Dredd was so good. Sad we probably won’t get sequels, the comics have so many stories it could adapt. I’d add the nice guys to the list another one that deserved a sequel

"To Live and Die in L.A."... Wang Chung's contributions to the soundtrack were all excellent songs. (I was mildly addicted to "Lullaby" for a bit.)
A great action film that most people don't know about is "Ninja Assassin" starring Rain and Naomie Harris. I would kill for that movie to have a sequel. 🥰🥰🥰

One I feel doesn’t get enough love is the last boyscout with Bruce Willis. I’ll throw the 48 hours movies in there too. It just feels like people have forgotten them

The Long Kiss Goodnight and Demolition Man are two of my favorite action movies of the 90s! The Rundown is my favorite Rock movie. Ronin is classic! Loved The Edge of Tomorrow!

To Live and Die in LA is a real classic by William Friedkin. It is like a Miami Vice movie for the 80s.
The Long Kiss Goodnight is by far the most underrated and undersold movie of Geena Davis' career. Not only is her chemistry with Samuel L. Jackson amazing, but the chemistry of the entire cast playing off one another just makes the film. You should have ranked it much higher because even YOU, WM, undersold it.
Street Kings with Keanu Reeves....totally underrated.
Assassin (1995) with Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore is an awesome movie that deserves a lot more love and attention. Stellar performances from all three of them.

The sequel sucks. Even John Woo hated that movie, except for the 3rd act.
Ronin is a GREAT movie! Agree with this list. It's so underrated along with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang! Most of these movies didn't get the recognition they deserve... Haven't seen Snow Piercer yet but probably will.

Gina and Michael Fassbender were great together. That hotel bedroom fight was awesome. That kick through the door? Yes! My niece and I rewatched that scene frequently.
Ghost Dog! That is the shit. It is the gem of the late 20th century indie film era.
Bullet Train was the first that came to mind. Never knew it existed until stumbling on it on Netflix. Fantastic movie
Also, I think Red should be talked about more. Sure, it got a sequel (that wasn’t as good as the first, but still fun), but after that came out, it basically vanished from all action movie conversations

Rock N Rolla has an amazing opening monologue with Mark Strong. I loved Master and Commander and not enough people know about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, it was soo good!
Long Kiss goodnight is the original Atomic Blonde. I was so hoping for a Gina David cameo. Loved this movie! Live that a woman rapper named herself Charley Baltimore after Gina’s Character.
Men were not ready in the 90s and made fun of it. So I took my nana and all women in my family to see it Christmas. I remember the “hell yeah’, from them, when she said life is pain, get use to it. Decades later took Nana and my daughter to see Atomic Blonde, Nana remembered LKGN and wondered where Gina was. This time when the stiletto fight scene came, she yelled ‘Whip-His-A$$! We are definitely action movie girls.

One of the greatest missteps in Hollywood was the studios writing Renny Harlin and Geena Davis off after Cutthroat Island made pirate movies box office kryptonite for 8 years. Geena was made to be an action movie star, and with Shane Black on script duty, TLKG will forever remain in my top 5 action movies. In any sane universe, this movie would have at least 2 sequels. There is so much to love in this film. It is endlessly quotable, it has a damn fine soundtrack, and that move Geena Davis does by rolling the shot glass across her lips is still one of the sexiest scenes this side of Heaven!
