Hi Gav, enjoying the video as I write...how timely! Just about to paint a 1/35 mule. Having grown up around horses, I am conscious of their prominent fur texture, unsure how to represent it in scale, several equine models are still in boxes, but those days are over. I commend you for the common-sense brilliance, fastidious methods, and kindness sharing your ways.
Cheers Brian if i get a chance i will paint a section under camera on one of the other horses . Hair texture always looks better as you go up the scales i always think . The painted lines method may not be perfect but it does allow you to create some texture , all the best . Regards Gav.
thank you sir , thank for your sincere lessons.. cool as always... I can learn a lot from you.. your videos give me the desire to paint and play wargaming
Awesome video Gav! I really enjoy the way you can calmly explain the why and how you paint your figures and how adding shading creates subtle differences in how we see the figure. Thank you for always sharing your art form with us. Wishing you and your wife a very Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
Thank you Larry there's always so much to learn and share with each other and often it can be adapted to your own taste , Happy Christmas my old marra . Regards Gav.
Thanks Keith i will be putting up vids as they progress , we had tile damage with the storms they will be sold for yet another bill it never stops ! Regards Gav.
Very cool Gav, those Hussars are going to be awesome! My hat’s off to you on that painting, I couldn’t see most of those much less paint them, haha! Anyhow, keep on keeping on marra, take care of yourselves and Have a Happy Christmas 🎄 🎄🤟🏻🤘🤙🏻✌🏻
Good morning Gav, I really don't know how you can paint something so small and then you mentioned 18mm figures, I find painting my 35th scale kits hard enough at times, looking forward to seeing how this little beauty comes out, we are looking at a hot weekend here about very late 30's°, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Cheers Les i am glad i am not painting or building in that heat , just working on the RFA Black Rover and i could see those conditions reactivating the glued seems ! Regards Gav.
