- This is a concert recording of The Dubliners performing at the Vienna Folk Festival on 17 August 1985. It survived on an old VHS tape, which was given to us as promotional material by the organisers of the Vienna event before the band's first performance in Hungary. As I can't see the recording of this concert anywhere, I'm publishing it now, although it is of poor quality and has some mistakes in places.
Oh boy, young Sean. This was probably when he had the most to prove, and he filled Luke's shoes well. Not fully, but he certainly brought his own flavor. God bless him, and all the rest of the Dubs!

The Dubs in their prime from voice-and instrumental skill side plus still from the age. Ronnie was at beginning of the 50ties, the rest in the middle of the 40ties.

1985! Unbelievable that another 27 years would follow. Ok, from 2006 on with Patsy it was not more the same. After Paddy Al O‘Donnel would have been definitely the better choice!
