  • Is this the future of Japanese art? Designed by visionary artist Hidetomo Kimura, the Art Aquarium in Nihonbashi, Tokyo is his latest project aimed at celebrating the beauty of Goldfish. Goldfish, or Kingyo in Japanese, have been popular in Japan for hundreds of years and are intrinsically woven into the culture. If you're looking for a good way to enjoy contemporary art mixed with the grace and animation of nature, there's certainly no better way to do so.

Hi, this is Mao. I am a secretary of Mr Hidetomo Kimura who is an art aquarium artist. Thank you so much for making this great video! Mr Hidetomo also saw it and he really impressed! He would love to show this video to his foreign friends :) Again, very thank you for amazing work. Good job!

This does not look animal fiendly.. do you have any information if the fish are taken out and have days to rest in a normal fishtank with hiding spots and plants?

I'm sure their filtration is top notch. Koi and Goldies are really dirty. But if you have good way to manage all that poop, then it should be fine.

It's hard to appreciate the beauty of this art when there is so little consideration for the well-being of these animals.

so unethical. don't go there, the tanks are so small and even rounded (which is bad for fishes). the fishes are also sensitive to light and generally have almost no plants of rocks in the tanks.
