Hi, I love your videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Back to preventive maintenance: Operators can check the health of the contacts on a contactor (resistance) even without using an IR infra red camera.
    Here's how:
    1.Run the motor. (Contactor close)
2.Measure the voltage drop between the top and bottom contacts on the contactor (L1 to T1 or 1 to 2) on the same phase.
3.Measure the current on the same phase.
4.Use the formula for power: 𝑃=E(Voltage)×I (Current) This calculation will give you a value in watts (assuming a purely resistive load, for simplicity). The resulting power is radiated as heat.
    Example: Voltage drop between L1 and T1 (E) = 3 volts Current on L1 (I) = 25 amps
Power (P) =E×I=3×25=75W This means that one contact will radiate 75 W of heat.
To imagine this, 75 W is equivalent to 1/20th of an electric kettle (1500 W) or the heat radiated by an old 80 W incandescent light bulb.
Note: The voltage drop across the healthy contacts of a contactor should always be as close as possible to 0 volts.
Thank you again from Austin TX.

Got the same issue i got with the shaking when doing work in the field under time constraints.. when equipment is shut off for any reason and is relying on my work to get done in order to bringvit back up, i get the shakes for some reason. Especially when people are overcmy shoulders.. i had to bring down half of a hospitals main power for generator changeover equipment repairs and had 3 different departments over my shoulders including the people who are in charge of all hospitals in the area questioning me about why, what, how long and if this could be done differently in the future.. like itll all be in the report afterwards just go away till stuff is done.. lol. When working in a box where only half is powered down and your a few inches away from slipping off a bolt and kaboom.. it gets a bit hairy.. made good money doing that work but had to quit because doing work under supervision that tell you not to use lockouts or not to log the work on critical equipment on their books is just waiting for something to go wrong.. gotta know when to tell somebody to do it themselves or follow your own set of rules even if your the new guy.. i was called every name in the game for doing things the way i felt safe doing em.

REAL “waste disposal” or “Soprano’s type waste management”? 🤣
      &
      What’s with “flares”?
      Methane burn off.?

I enjoy your videos greatly. But, I can’t stand you and harbor great hatred for Hawaiian residents.
Severe arthritis + 6” of snow make me jealous 🫣j
Kidding aside, I appreciate you showing your work projects.
Good luck and be safe 🫡

      @@PowderMillyeah a legitimate business.
      Yeah it's methane burning off.
Congrats on retirement. I'm from Virginia Beach originally, came out here in '07. Weather's nice here but it's expensive. I can't complain though 😊
      Thanks for watching!

Those Cutler Hammer "freedom" series contactors are shit.
For heavy duty use like that, the contactor should be upsized
