I have been using The Ordinary Niacinamide for the past 4 moths and I love it! It really VISIBLY shrinks the pores after only one month, breakouts started to be less frequent and finally disappeared after 3 months. Not only it helps rebalance skin barrier but also restores uneven and dull skin (VISIBLY).

I have been using The Ordinary's Niacinamide for months and I love it. I started using it because last year, out of nowhere, every month, I would get a bad pimple on my chin; I have never had pimples ever. I already used Niod and Hylamide, so I tried and loved it; it stopped this hormonal chin nonsense.

I've always wondered about your take on this ingredient. I've been using Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide serum for a while now, and it works wonders. I use it sparingly because it's quite strong. So I use it every other day or so, and mix it into my AHA or BHA serums before I apply anything else.
My skin stays smooth, supple, and glows. It's perfect under makeup. It also helps with pores and pigmentation fairly quickly too. I highly recommend it.

I have just started using Niacinamide. I bought mine via Amazon from a company called EVA. I believe it is a 5% serum. I have some enlarged pores on my nose and chin so I'm hoping I'll see some improvement using this product. But even if it doesn't provide a fabulous result for pore shrinkage, I know that it's going to be boosting collagen and helping to reduce inflammation, which I do get some redness on my face and have some broken capillaries around my nose, cheeks, and chin. I'm fair skinned and had darker auburn hair as a young woman. I'm now 62 and am trying to slow down the effects of aging of my skin. I love learning about good skin care. I'm a new subscriber and really like what I heard on your video. Thank you!

I've been using Amazing Argan two-phase complexion oil by a UK company called H&O Skincare. It's been life changing, honestly stubborn spots and scars that wouldn't go have nearly completely gone. The niacinamide in the oil is activated by massaging the skin with hot/ warm water after the oil is on the skin. I've been using it just over 8 months now and its only just under half way in the bottle. I've noticed such a remarkable improvement in my skin and I think the niacinamide has had a role to play.

The new Marks and Spencer ultimate Sleep Cream that everyone is going mad for has niacinimide as the 3rd ingredient, and yet in its description only says it "contains hyaluronic acid and skin brightening actives". I'm surprised because with the advent of the m&s beauty hall, with all the amazing brands they now stock, I would have thought they'd have a bit more faith in their consumer to know what niacinimde is.
The Olay regenerist luminous range (not the 3 point range mentioned in this video) is based on niacinimide (as most of the olay ranges are) but also includes some form of glucosamine which apparently they say must be present for niacinimide to work on melanin production. Ruth Crilly did a trial of it a few years ago if anyone wants to refer back.

It was fantastic to begin with but then eventually I started getting cystic acne :( I wonder if I got an older version but I don't have the box anymore to check ingredients. Do you think I should try to get the new formulation?

Great video thanks. Quick question for my pm routin. I use the ordinary products as follow. Hyaluronic acid on damp skin once that dries I use the buffet then I mix about 2 to 3 drops of the niaciamide into my cerave face moisturizer with 2 drops of the squalane oil. Is this ok ? Or should I disregard the squalane? Want to make sure I am not messing nothing up by mixing the niaciamide into my cerave face moisturizer. Thanks

    Hi Nadine,
as I'm hearing about the importance of SPF so much, do you know any product that you can mix into other creams if they do not contain sun protection? Like some product which only contains SPF but no other active ingredients (and no fragrences and alcohol of course).
    Thank you. x

I use all ordinary products and this niacinimide will mix with any other products I love it, should I be using this before all other serums nadine ie after an acid toner? Ps love your videos they have literally changed my life by giving me the information needed to completely revamp my skincare routine, I can not thank you enough. I used dermalogica for over 20 years and while it worked fine I never saw a noticeable improvement in my skin, I have acne scarring and large pores. I’m also 37 so fine lines have just started to appear! After watching for quite some time I and finding out which products/ingredients I needed I bought the near enough the entire ordinary range and have never looked back. Thankyou thankyou thankyou 💕🙌🏽 x

Would love to hear your thoughts on the entire "NIA24" skincare line. They advertise the use of a pro-niacin molecule. Do you think it's worth the price hike or the ordinary is a good alternative? I've used one bottle of the ordinary already and my skin loved it but it was hard to wear during the day because of piling.

Sara.Austin , in another comment above, she told the commenter that it was good to mix the niacinimide with Hyaluronic acid, half and half, since the person was having sensitivity problems with the strong Niacinimde 10%. The Ordinary has Hyaluronic Acid very sensibly priced too. I can't say if it's okay to mix it with other products like moisturizer, etc., but, personally, I think it would be okay. That's just my thoughts on it.

    • @lizmiller7681
      @lizmiller7681 7 лет назад +1

Also, I dont know about mixing it in powder form at all. You may really want to get an expert opinion on that. The Ordinary sells Niacinimide 10% in a liquid (a little bit thick liquid) form at a very good price, compared to most skincare lines. I've been using several products from The Ordinary for almost a year now, and I'm very pleased with them. The products are made by a very good, dependable skincare company. They cut corners in every way they can, except in the quality of the product itself. No fancy packaging, no fancy dispensers, etc. They say they want to produce good skincare that people can afford, not just rich people, but ordinary people, because they deserve to be able to care for their skin, too. Look up Wayne Goss, and Goss makeup chat on RUclips. There are like 5 to 10 videos. You need to try to watch them from the earliest to the newest, otherwise it will be a bit confusing. He explains a lot about The Ordinary. He doesn't work for them or anything, he just loves the products.

Sara. Austin, I'm sorry to write so much but just another thing: if you live in the U. S., as I do, I can tell you where I now order my The Ordinary products without paying tax or shipping (with a minimum order, I think). The clothing store ASOS online is carrying a fairly good selection, and last order I did, I ordered from them. I ordered a good amt. It was no taxes and free shipping. One more thing I'll mention is their Retinol 2%. It is the best I've found and I've been using it for years. Most Retin products will irritate your skin and make you peel when you first begin to use them, so the advice to start out slow. Skip days. Like use it 2 days a week for 3 weeks, then use it 3 days a week, and so on, like that. The Ordinary Retinol 2% is a fairly high strength for it to not be doctor's prescription required. But, this Retinol 2% was specially created and formulated to be the least likely to be irritating to your skin. I think they also claim little to no peeling, I can't remember exactly what it said. Anyway, I have NEVER been able to use any type of Retinoid product without going through an awful irritation, burning, and bad peeling for at least three or four weeks in the beginning, until I started using Retinol 2% from The Ordinary. And, it really works so well. I do still have minor peeling, but it's not too bad. Because, ultimately, to me, the peeling means and proves it is working. I used their Retinol 1% for a couple of months, and, yes, I was red and peeled for about 3 weeks or so. And , it was half the strength. I just love their Retinol 2%! Bye, now, and good luck!

Hi Nadine - I have just bought The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% with Zinc and I plan to use this in conjunction with my morning Clinique ID orange Glycolic/Salicylic/Taurine pump moisturiser before my Clinique City block SPF 40; you mention this is safe to be mixed with other moisturisers but I am just slightly concerned that with the ordinary's 10% of Niacinamide, could it be edging towards a bad reaction?... If anyone else reading this knows, any tips would be great! (they do scare you not to mix it with vitamin C on the ordinary's website hence my confused consumer alert!) Thank you !

Hi Nadine. Due to aging my pores on my cheeks nose and Chin have become extremely enlarged. I have never dealt with this problem before. So I have decided to order the niacinamide from the ordinary, in hopes that it will decrease the size of my pores. My question is... When I went to the ordinary website it states that I should use my vitamin C which I use every morning on Alternate days that I use the niacinamide. But I did hear you say that Paula from Paula's Choice used her vitamin C and niacinamide together on the same day. Can I do this with my drunk elephant vitamin C and the niacinamide from the ordinary. Or do I use them on separate days? I so hope this helps my pores shrink. Thank you.

I have been using Niacinamide from the Odrinary for about 6months. They recommended combining with Alpha Arbutin. It has helped with my pigmentation and redness. I will continue to use. The Ordinary website cautioned about using at the same time as Vitamin C.? I am considering trying their 30% when I finish my current C serum. Nice to know I can combine if I choose. Appreciate your research and videos:)

I am currently using Timeless Vitamin C and CoQ10 serums in the morning. After serums a moisturizer then Australian Gold Mineral sunscreen. In the evening after a double cleanse to remove makeup, I use the Alpha Arbutin, Niacinimide, hylauronic acid, then Retin A. I then finish with an oil and seal in with thick moisturizer cream. The Ordinary has a guide which is very helpful. I also like Renee from Gothamista You Yube channel. She has several very informative videos about The Ordinary. Also since watchng her I just purchased some Korean skincare from Pyunkang Yul. It is also reasonably priced. After finishing my Vit C from Timeless, I plan on purchasing the 30% fro the Ordinary. I may then use Vitamin C in evening since it can be combined with Niacinamide . As a rule I try to use the thinnest products first such as serums, then cream. I top with oil to aid penetration, then seal all in for the night. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

don't combine retinol and vitamin c. don't use any acids or retinol in summer, at all. when the temperature drops, you can start using it. and only at night, because we have extremely sunny weather. you can use HA all the time, morning and evening, whenever you want.

Oskia Renaissance Brightlight Serum is one - it isn't totally obvious but it does list Niacinamide on its packaging. It's primary function is to reduce pigmentation which I don't think it was actually that great at doing, however it did help to reduce inflammation from my breakout-prone skin and I also noticed a difference in pore size so it was definitely worth trying. Quite a pricey one though!

I've been using the garden of wisdom, what I love about it compared to many shown on this video is the pump feature. Eye drop type bottles are a serious turn off. 1. HUGE risk of me spilling it. 2. It exposes the solution to air and light.
