Having the two industries to serve, plus the general goods shed gives such delightful reason for this train and the shunting operations demonstrated. Al in such a beautifully crafted scene. In a word INSPIRATIONAL!
Stay safe, well and a Happy Modeller in 2024. Tony 🚂

That shows what remarkable progress you've made at Bamford in what seems a relatively short time. Just the back of the houses to go now (probably needs an alleyway, which the binmen would have used to access the backyards to collect the bins, back when we didn't have to put them out in the street.

      G`day Andrew,
Yes I`m about to move onto the back of the terraces next.
Somehow I`ve got to fit a small garden in there to create a green barrier between the terraces and the railway.
      We`ll see how it goes.
      Cheers

Great video Gormo. Now that’s what model railways are built for, playability.

    G'day Gormo,
That was a nice little switch sequence you performed and the area around the lumber yard and the coal merchants looks great.
    Cheers, Gary.

All in a days work for the driver, and coal delivered to the merchant to sell his goods to the public. Well done Mr driver Gormo. You've been hard at work, and it's good to see the results of your charming layout.

That all looks magnificent Gormo! And great operations. Inspiring 👍✌️💜😊
I'm still experimenting with coupling magnets vs Dinghams, still undecided, in 7mm, as the Dinghams/Flippems look better especially with chains, but the magnets are easier to install/use, but look a bit chunky. I've seen the use of a "splitter" WIT from below the baseboards inbetween the track but then one is stuck with fixed uncoupling areas🤔🤔
I'm using WIT where I can for point and signal operations too, similarly with RC in the locos or DCC (I was bought a basic setup some 17 years ago). 17 years! Seems like yesterday!!!🥴😱😱🙄
Keep up the good work 👍✌️💜

      Well Muso,
My choice would be ease of use over looks.
At the moment there does not seem to be a solution that does both. I have found with operating, that ease of use helps with the enjoyment and allows you to get on with the shunting puzzle.
I`m not a fan of fixed uncoupling areas and prefer the freedom afforded by the hand of God method.
WIT is great for points and signals and eliminates electrical issues etc. sometimes associated with them, also it`s prototypical.
      Keep on having fun
      Cheers

      Thanks for your comments,
The points are manually controlled by rods and levers, so the speed is determined by how fast I pull the lever.

Hi, Gormo. I've just been catching up with several of your videos. Particularly like the one on block instruments. I was just wondering why you model British outline? But, having said that, I think it's a really good model railway! Love it! Dave Barnes from Southend on sea. England

G`day David and thanks for your comments.
I just like British trains.....always have always will.
There are some British guys on our railway forum that model American and there is at least one guy who does Australian.
So it works in reverse too mate.....👍
      Cheers
