The other day it was raining and I was on the phone with my brother, deciding if I should go work on an old JCB backhoe stuck out in a friend’s field. Without hesitating, he said, “Marty T would already be out there!” Grabbed a raincoat and got it fixed. Thanks for the inspiration Marty!

so cool that you scored this truck. A functioning double front axle truck is not only more stable but also - kind of - half a 4WD.
And 19 tons is a huge capacity. That gives you a lot of freedom. so happy for ya

Marty, I'm sure you have already thought of this. Even though you are not going to drive on the public roads, if the registration on the truck has not expired already, put it on hold and keep doing so each year. NZTA do not seem to mind rolling it over endlessly and this will preserve some possible increased future value. You don't need a WOF/COF to allow the rego to go "on hold" and it costs nothing each year. If you ever sold it, its worth more in the market place being registered. One suspects that there maybe the odd time for picking up items of machinery this would be very handy (LOL like you will ever acquire anymore "kit"). Being allowed on the road would be good and you never know, you may sort the chassis heave and cab rust. Assumption is that you have a class 4 license. But to be frank, I don't have a class 4 and the odd time it never really bothered me as I only went on the road once a year.

You said down below you had tons of eggs. Not sure if you saw the reply so ill post it again here. A nice way to use up a dozen eggs. One of my favorites. We used to do ours in an angle food cake pan but whatever you have will work. A nice lemon glaze is delicious on this as well.
    TWELVE EGG SPONGE CAKE
    12 egg yolks
    3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 tbsp. vanilla
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    12 egg whites
    2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
Beat egg yolks for about 5 minutes. Add sugar and beat about 3 minutes. Add water, vanilla and flour and beat 5 minutes. Beat egg whites with baking powder until soft peaks form, then fold into batter. Pour into 12-inch pan and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Turn upside down until cake comes loose from pan.
