this week i finally decided to start my sewing journey ! my sewing machine has been sitting there and begging for some action :D so i hope you enjoy this video where i put my non existent skills to test and upcycle some of my clothes.

For the little black dress you could keep the sleeves and attach them to a crochet top! You could also add a crochet edging to cover more of the revealing parts and maybe just turn the dress into a top if you dont like it being a bodycon dress!

The dress looks so great! You did amazing! I so sympathize with the trying-on with pins pain.
More recently, I tend to do basting stitches (long running stitches by hand) to temporarily attach when I want to try on a piece because I personally hate trying one with pins. I also personally find it makes me feel more secure if I put the work down or pack it away.
I think ill do that next time 😂 my mom usually does that as well but i just got lazy! I paid for it tho haha

Great job! Thanks for the motivation to learn some new hobbies! I have been looking at trying some hobbies as a form of self-care! For example, Diane in Denmark videos on Fridays with the titles weekly planning self-care, she gives four self-care assignments/ideas that one can choose from for the week and in one of those videos she mentioned being creative. Also Mariane Cresp mentioned in her boost your mood video about creativity and I also watched Kennedy from the channel Cozy K, cozy hobbies to try videos. So I do not knit or crochet, but have been watching these types of videos as goals!
You dont have to knit or sew or crochet :) there are plenty of hobbies out there so as long as you find something that makes you happy that great ❤️

hiiiiiiiiiighly reccomend annika victoria's old videos! she had a whole series of making "trendy" pieces out of stuff that you already have. she inspired me so much when i was starting out

Hey im glad this video helped ❤️ i got my sewing machine from a local store here ! Its a Brother FS155. I still didnt get much use of it but its great so far
I prefer brown craft paper for my pattern making. To the point that i usually transfer the tissue pattern in the packaged pattern to kraft paprr
Why tho? It doesnt bother you that its so stiff ?
@NadiasStudio I prefer it for that reason. I reuse pattern pieces quite often and they don't tear as easily when they are made of a thicker paper

it turned out SO CUTE!!!! plus its motivating me to finally tackle my upcycling clothes stash too :) (i have some shirts that are too tight in the sleeves so i wanna remove them and instead add crochet sleeves!!)
