I went to KL in April this year, was really impressed and it’s very under-rated. Cheaper than Bangkok for many things, great food, great location - it’s a real alternative to Bangkok I think and will get more popular. Also the airport train is by far the best way to get to the centre, just get that to KL Sentral and then the monorail to Bukit Bintang.

Yet another excellent video/Narrative Gaby. I lived in KL for 5 years prior to my retirement and subsequent move to Spain.
I miss Asia enormously and I am now going thru the process of selling up here in Spain and I am scheduled to return back to KL at the beginning of September.....can't wait !
Your video brought back a lot of memories for me and I look forward to revisiting them later in the year.

Yes, KL is an underrated city sandwiched between Bangkok and Singapore, two popular cities that eclipsed KL as a tourist destination. As you can see, KL is a fusion of numerous ethnicities and ancient and modern architecture. Chinatown is a favourite destination for foreign baggers, who damage the country's reputation. The majority of Petaling Street's vendors are Bangladeshis who market fraudulent items. You must be able to haggle whenever you purchase something there. In order to avoid the heat in Malaysia's humid climate, the majority of Malaysians prefer to shop in malls. I hope you liked your time in KL this time around.

Thanks, Gabi: KL is awesome! I'm in a suburb called Cyberjaya, kind of halfway between the city center and the airport. I've spent months here. The city is a wonderful place just to walk and enjoy all the different areas. It's definitely one of the great cities of S.E. Asia, I think. I prefer it over Bangkok. It's affordable, safe and the people are very nice. Glad you made it back and have enjoyed it. Thanks for a great video with excellent photography, as always. Stay healthy.

KL is really nice and looked so face. Until someone that looked India just went chasing us and we entered a bar with so many Indians. The guy enter the room and while he was stopped the managsr.,an Indian looking waiter told us to just Run as fast as we can using another door. Then in my hostel, an Indian looking person pretends to be a tourist but just steals from the other guest. So KL which looks safer than Bangkok became a nightmare. Because of a few Indians. Hey, I’m a Malaysian and yes from KLIA airport to City Centre can take a long time if you’re coming on a working day mean Monday to Friday depending on the time as well. Also if it’s raining it will take 2 hours plus. But you come on Weekend or on work day between 12pm to 4pm or 8pm to 10pm there won’t be traffic and you will reach within 45 minutes. My suggestion is to take the Train from KLIA airport straight to KL Sentral. And from there you book grab. Which is faster and cheaper. 🤗

Welcome back to Malaysia. I have been to Kuala Lumpur. Jalan is street. Jalan Pateling is Petaling Street. Do come to Malaysia again. If you do come again, do come to Kelantan

I rate countries with good infrastructure. Saigon has high rise buildings, looks good but poorly built. Also no subways. So they have motorbike nightmare. No fast highways.. Many countries followed Eisenhower interstate system. Korea sure did in early 80's. Fast freeway from Seoul to Busan. Only been to Vietnam and Thailand. But thumbs up to Thailand. Never been to Malaysia, but i will be there to do visa run.

Visited KL in nov last year and enjoyed it very much. Travelling along The Seranganu side of Malaysia we felt like aliens, people staring at us and not being friendly to us. But ok, we saw almost no " western" tourists there. Enjoy your trip

They are shy, and their english is not as good as the west coast people, and they are a bit conservative
.. but if you try to strike up a conversation with the you will find them ok...
