I started to craft Gen 3 legendaries with imperial favors, because I am chronically broke for spirit shards, and even while legendary weapons cost more spirit shard (and take time because you need to complete the 4 RoD maps), the Profit per shard (and also per favor) is higher. You obviously need some starting capital for this though.
