They sing the anthem, not The Internationale. It's just a very problematic song - especially with the Russian ideology of the 21st century. Most Russians consider themselves believers in God. How can they sing such an atheistic anti-God song...?
They’re now a authoritarian reactionary, Russian ethnocentric, imperialist state. A damn shame indeed, they’re traitors to the ideology most Russian leaders grew up in pre 1991. Also @@alexvig2369, there’s Christian socialism which imo as a non Christian feels more authentic to what Jesus taught.

@@robertpolanco1973 to be completely honest, don't forget that the Bolsheviks executed many priests and destroyed a lot of churches during the revolution and after. Part of what Putin did was to restore some aspects that were lost. Many are lost forever, but some could be restored.

@@alexvig2369 Well, IF not Gorbachev, then who should take the blame for the USSR's unfortunate demise anyway? So the way I saw it, Gorbachev had FAILED as a patriot for the Soviet motherland!
@@robertpolanco1973 No offense bruh, but I was born in Russia, speak Russian and have family there still. Blaming the political collapse all on Gorbachev is extremely dishonest. The trajectory was going down fast no matter who stood in power. The only way to save the USSR was to crack down on people - like how China did in Tiananmen square. And I'm glad the Russians chose *not* to do that.
