The new model does not need a same code, you can select your state and county and it sets the same code from those entries. We will record a new video soon to cover the new model radio.
I have contacted Midland, hope to have an answer for you soon. I went to events and deleted all, my assumption is that tornado warning is always on as a safety feature, but waiting for confirmation from Midland. We will record a new video for the Model 120 very soon.
I just received a Midland WR120. We have a very large county and get many tornado watches when the weather is stormy. I really only want to get an alert (warning) if a tornado is spotted. I turned off all alarms except the tornado watch alert (which I do not want). Is there a way to receive just tornado warnings? There is no tornado warnings alert. Do I need a different model?
Went to turn my weather radio on to use since bad weather is in the area and all it does is screech. I know we are in a Tornado Watch too. Guess I'll need to buy a new one so I'm ready for the severe weather season.
I've had my radio for at least 5 years and today, it decided not to work. We are under a tornado watch and a thunderstorm warning. And...nothing. When I hit the snooze/weather button, all I get is a loud screech. I guess it's time to get a new one, eh? :(
LOVED THIS ONE!!!!!!! ALWAYS WENT OFF AND DEPENDABLE!!!!! THE NEW PREPROGRAMMED ONES ARE JUNK!!!!! NOT GOING OFF N WATCHES AND WARNING'S!!!!!!
thanks this made life so easy... im so lazy instead of reading i checked youtube for instructions first haha
The BEST directions to setting up a NOAA Midland Weather radio. Thanks.

Hey! It’s Jim razor
thank you sir, U THE MAN
Jeff, Midland confirms tornado warning is locked in. If you delete all events you will have tornado warnings only.
Thank you 🙏
who knew that David Letterman could tell us how to program a weather radio

any idea how to set this for just tornado alerts without having to have amber alerts, flash flood alerts etc going off in the middle of the night?
I have this same radio and never knew how to set it up instructions were chewed up by my puppy at the time.

that is a sure sign ... are you in SIL?
Jim Rasor SIL?
Cindy A. southern Illinois
the SAME code sets state and county
why don't they just put a button on there weather in your area? automatic scan!
fool, i have the WR-120EZ model
the screech is a symptom of a unit that has a mechanical failure. Where are you located Jan? If you are in my local area, contact me by email.
The screech indicates that the radio has a dead tuner
