It's becoming clear that OG Aerith and later Omni Aerith knew about Cloud...She knew exactly where to meet him on loveless avenue, and at the end of CC when Zack was dragging Cloud to Midgar, she knew about his death when she was praying. Red XIII said that 'Destiny' started when Cloud/Aerith met...They belong together only as actors of the lifestream/the Planet but not as mortals. Unfortunately :(
I know people have been saying that Cloud has gone insane and is hallucinating at the end, but I'm still holding onto the chance that the timeline has been tampered somehow and there's a chance that this time, they can be together in the end. 😭😭

He then stalks and tries to kidnap Aerith in a crazy outburst he thought she was Ifalna. He was "taken care of" by the Turks.
