Thank you so much for your financial support of the channel as a member! Yes, the Airbus A320 is a nice airplane and it is - for sure - a joy to fly it! Have a great day!
Great video, once again. Some curiosity such as the different occasions in which vectors were given for separation with other traffic, interesting. I also liked knowing the procedures for forecasting fuel and weights for arrival, I imagine it is a common procedure but not for those of us who are not pilots. Thank you very much for teaching us more about everything we need to do, not just pilot, for a plane to go from the starting point to its final destination.
Thank you very much for your good and very detailed feedback! It is great to hear that you enjoyed the content of the video! Sometimes, we are flying along the full arrival and approach path. Sometimes, we get shortcuts and at other times, ATC provides vectors for separation. We continuously monitor the fuel status of the airplane and use the estimated landing weight and the weather for the landing distance and go around performance calculation. Have a nice day!
Thank you very much for your great feedback! You can help me to get more subscribers and tell everybody about the channel! Thanks in advance for your support! Have a wonderful day!
Very nice full flight video again, funny to see so many ‘headings’ to deviate from the planned route and loved the fact that you are so proactive to look for short cuts! Your breakfast looked healthy, but it’s not something the airline provide you with.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your observations! You are right, most of the time, we bring our own breakfast. Everybody has very different ideas what he or she likes to eat.
Dear Stefan! Thank you very much for this detailed video. It makes me easier to study the flows and the SOPs before my type rating it will start next monday for another low cost airline here in Europe. Kind regards. :)
Many thanks to you for the financial support of the channel as a member! It is great to hear that the videos are helping you in preparation of your Airbus type rating! I wish you all the best and lots of fun for your upcoming type rating training!
Awesome video as always! 🫶 it’s great to see how you guys work inside the cockpit, especially because usually you don’t get to visit the cockpit during flight. Great and informative insides. 🙏🏻Can’t wait to be sitting there myself soon. Hope that we’ll be sharing the cockpit together someday. Starting my flight training at the EFA in 3 month.
Thanks for your great feedback! One of the reasons why I do the videos is the chance to show what we do behind the closed cockpit door. I wish you all the best for you training with the European Flight Academy and hope to see you soon in the cockpit!

Thanks Captain for bringing us this amazing videos. We appreciate a lot your dedication. Would be any possibility to show the upper ecam sometimes? Thanks
Thanks! Right now, it is not possible to show the upper ECAM. I work on this idea since a long time, but due to very limited possible camera locations and instrument reflections, I did not find a good solution until now.

Hello! I really enjoy your videos as a pilot trying to land his first airline job. This shows true insight on how a flight can be operated. I have been invited for BQ at eurowings later this spring. Do you mind if I reach out from some general questions? All the best from Sweden
Great video, beautiful views of Mallorca, best views from FL370,was really cool seeing you follow the contrails the aircraft ahead left behind at FL370, seeing the horizon, the dark blue above and ground below. Almost like the edge of space. Love it!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 whats the highest flight level you've climbed with the A320 family?
Thanks for watching, your good feedback and for sharing your very detailed observations! The A320 family planes which we use are certified for a maximum altitude of 39800 feet. So FL 390 this is the maximum which I ever climbed to in an A320.
So I suggest that you work on your grades! Also you can go to a local flying club and fly with them to find out how you like the flying in the real plane.
Hi , absolutely love the videos ! A question I have , on some of your videos when you disengage the auto break the plane says loudly “ auto break off “ and other videos it doesn’t ? Keep up the great work as always and enjoy the flying !
Thanks for your good feedback! Your observation is correct! The auto callout "autobrake off" depends on the software and hardware modification status of the specific airplane. Have a nice day!
Loved the inclusion at the end of the ground ops walk-around, never normally see that, thank you Captain! When the FO moves the fan blades, they 'tick' - haven't heard that before, normal I presume? 🙂
Thanks for sharing your good and helpful feedback and your personal comment! The ticking of the fan blades depend on the engine type/manufacturer. Usually, the IAE engines do not tick. The CFM engines tick. Have a nice day!
especially the CFMs (and also some others like e.g. the good old RB211 if i'm not completely wrong) are well known for this. if you look carefully at the very top part of the fan, you can see how the blades fall a bit from one side to the other, because they are not mounted completely fixed, but with a little bit of slack instead, which causes those "ticks" or "clacks". but at higher revolutions, centrifugal forces will then lock the blades into their normal position.
Why is the white arrow in the terrain display spinning around like that at 1:52:40? I have never seen something like that in one your videos :D. looks a bit funky haha
The arrow is a RMI (radio magnetic indicator) pointer, a needle which points to the position of VOR1 which is located near the Palma de Mallorca airport and can be used for approaches or so. You see it spinning because the signal was very weak due to the distance. As we were coming closer to the station, you can see that the needle points very stable to the location of the VOR-station.
Hello captain , great video as always ! I really appreciate the time and effort taken to produce such high quality full flights videos. and if you don't mind I have a couple of question that were brought to my mind watching the video. 1-I noticed that you were flying on an odd flight level when your destination was to the west of Düsseldorf , is this normal or the rule of even and odd flight levels can change ? 2- Is there a specific rule or guideline of when to engage the autopilot after take-off ? and again thank you very much for your great work !!
Thanks a lot for your financial support of the channel as a member! The general rule says that flights from 0 to 179 degrees are done at an odd level and from 180 to 359 degrees on an even level. Some airways have different regulations which are published on the charts. Sometimes, we have to change the level enroute due to this regulation. The pilot flying decides when to switch on the autopilot after takeoff. Minimum engagement altitude is 100 feet on the radar altimeter and 5 seconds after takeoff. Have a nice remaining weekend!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos 320 FCOM says A/P for cruise and flight level changes in RVSM, but there's a lot of conflicting info in the air. Some say you can handfly to cruise but must engage at level and others that, you need to engage it prior to entry in to the airspace itself. What's your interpretation of this or your company's?
Thank you! The audio in the video is the original audio from the cockpit. This includes everything: ATC, pilots communications and auto callouts of the airplane. It is the same what we pilos hear or what somebody on the jumpseat would hear. I do not release any details about how the audio is recorded. I hope for your understanding.
Good question! The pilot flying is not reading any checklists. This is all done by the pilot monitoring. Here, on the ground, the Captain is always taxiing the airplane. So, on the ground, he or she is always considered to be the pilot flying. That means that on the ground the First Officer is always reading the checklists.
@@lucascaffese It is airline policy. Some airlines allow the First Officers to taxi the airplane, others not. This is always based on operational risk evaluations which are done by the airlines. You are right, the original Airbus FCOM allows the First Officers to taxi the airplane when they are pilot flying.
We can put in the CTOT or any other time as takeoff time. This calculates the arrival time and reminds us about the takeoff time. There will be a future video of an approach and a departure into and out of Malaga which shows how we do it on the MCDU page.
Hello Stefan! Another wonderful full flight video! If you don'tmind i have a question about colour blindness in aviation: i am mild deutan (i only notice that i am when i do ishihara tests) would i still be able to become a commercial pilot? I know that there are also secondary tests after the ishihara tests when you don't pass those. Do you have a´y advise or remarks? All the best from Brussels!
Thanks for watching the video and for sharing your good feedback and your very personal comment! In general, as pilots we have to be able to see the differences between colors. Especially in modern aircraft, everything is displayed in certain colors. And different color shades have different meanings. If you do not notice your color blindness, I suggest that you talk to an aviation aeromedical examiner. He or she knows the exact requirements and can help you. Some reading material form EASA, the European aviation authority, in regard to the topic is available here: www.easa.europa.eu/en/downloads/126635/en Best greetings to Brussels!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Thank you so much! I was really looking for a document like this! As i said i have a very mild colour defficiency and still have high hopes for a pilot career. Once again thank you, your content keeps me interested and drivven to go for this!

You already know my comment on the Mallorca video's. Always good! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing your good feedback!
Thank you so much for this excellent video captain
Thank you for watching and for sharing your good comment! Have a nice day!
Excellant video that have ever been made!
Thanks a lot for your good feedback! Please tell everybody about the channel! Thanks in advance for your help and have a great day!

Thanks for your kind words! Have a great day!
Wow awesome video. you deserve way more subscribers!!!
Thank you very much for your great feedback! You can help me to get more subscribers and tell everybody about the channel! Thanks in advance for your support! Have a wonderful day!
Great video captain. A fascinating insight into the life of a pilot. Take care.
Thanks for watching and your good feedback! All the best to you!
Full flight😍 wie immer ein Genuss👌👌
Herzlichen Dank für das Lob!
Sehr interessantes Video....vielen lieben Dank dafür!👍👍👍
Sehr gerne!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos thank you so much captain! 🙏🏻 appreciate you!

Thank you very much for your great feedback and for being a loyal supporter of the channel! Have a nice day!
Beautiful video and exactly the right length to watch it on holidays. Keep on the work.
A little camera insight into the ATSU work on ground would be nice aswell.
Thanks for sharing your good feedback and your continuous financial support of the channel as a member! This helps a lot and makes videos like this one possible! I will keep the ATSU request in mind and see what we can do. I wish you a nice vacation!
A detailed ATSU view would definitely be a great service 😊
I will keep it in mind and will try to show more of the ATSU in the future.
Sehr schönes video🎉💪 macht weiter so 👍
Great Video. Good Job
Thank you very much!
Hi Stefan
Looking forward to this one. Love flying into Palma 👍🧑✈️
Thanks for your good feedback! I also love flying to Palma very much! I wanted to do this video for a long time, but due to technical issues it was not possible until now.
Really enjoyed this one Stefan
Sadly the flight plan didn’t quite take us over Alcudia bay as this is my regular holiday location
O well just means I’ll have to now do it myself in the sim
I’m now really excited as booked a two hour session in a professional A320 Simulator in September so any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks once again Stefan you and your team for these amazing videos 👍👨✈️
I wish you lots of fun in the simulator!
The First Officer in this flight video is very handsome 😍😍😍😍
I am in Mallorca
Now great seeing what the pilots saw
I guess I had reverse
Operations when we landed as we came over the sea and had a large banking to land is that right ?
Thanks for watching! I wish you a great time on the nice island!
Hi Stefan Paul from Kent another wonderful flight I was following your flight with flight radar again such great team work first officer was very good and professional.
I like at the end when you ask the first officer how was the flight look forward to your next fight kindest regards Paul
Paul, thank you so much for you great and helpful feedback and your support of the channel! Best greetings to Kent!
Ganz großes Kino
Danke!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Do not worry no problem. Thanks for your kind reply. All the best.😊
i like it nice vid
I'm glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
That lady in the Düsseldorf tower has a really nice voice.
Danke!
Vielen Dank fürs Anschauen!
Great video as always Stefan. Can you sometime make a video to explain the flight navigation display you use ?
Thanks for your good feedback! I will keep your suggestion in mind! Have a nice day!
Das ist ja vollkommen irre hier... :D
this is how every captain should be.
Thank you so much for your kind words about my person! Have a great day!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos awesome 😃👌
The best job in the world.
I agree! You are right!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos i want to become like you, but im not the best with grades and im scared and worried.
So I suggest that you work on your grades! Also you can go to a local flying club and fly with them to find out how you like the flying in the real plane.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos thanksss
Another great video! Would there be any chance in the future if you would show cold and dark setup on the aircraft if that is allowed or possible
Thanks for your good feedback! I will keep your suggestion in mind. It may take a while.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos thank you very much ! Haben eine Guten Tag !

@ApproachandDepartureVideos Thank you, didn't know that!
especially the CFMs (and also some others like e.g. the good old RB211 if i'm not completely wrong) are well known for this. if you look carefully at the very top part of the fan, you can see how the blades fall a bit from one side to the other, because they are not mounted completely fixed, but with a little bit of slack instead, which causes those "ticks" or "clacks". but at higher revolutions, centrifugal forces will then lock the blades into their normal position.
Nice videos! How do you record ATC and cockpit auido at the same time?
Thank you! The audio in the video is the original audio from the cockpit. This includes everything: ATC, pilots communications and auto callouts of the airplane. It is the same what we pilos hear or what somebody on the jumpseat would hear. I do not release any details about how the audio is recorded. I hope for your understanding.
Wonderful video as always.
Airbus question: are the rudder pedals very stiff when trying to push them?
Thanks for the great feedback! The rudder pedals need some pressure, but this is far away from very stiff when we push them.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Thanks for response!
Had a go in a simulator, near impossible to push comfortably.
Very good video! Altough i have a question, why the pilot flying is reading the checklists? thats not a PM task? cheers
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Ohh i see! makes sense now. Airline policy? cant find this method on the FCOM
@@lucascaffese It is airline policy. Some airlines allow the First Officers to taxi the airplane, others not. This is always based on operational risk evaluations which are done by the airlines. You are right, the original Airbus FCOM allows the First Officers to taxi the airplane when they are pilot flying.
just need some subtitles and this video would be an absolute 10/10
I do not have the time to do it. If you have some spare time, maybe we find a way that you can update the auto generated subtitles.
Hi! Great video! Where did you input the CTOT on the vertical revision page and for what reason?
We can put in the CTOT or any other time as takeoff time. This calculates the arrival time and reminds us about the takeoff time. There will be a future video of an approach and a departure into and out of Malaga which shows how we do it on the MCDU page.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Great, thank you! As always, enjoyed this one a lot.
Some reading material form EASA, the European aviation authority, in regard to the topic is available here: www.easa.europa.eu/en/downloads/126635/en
Best greetings to Brussels!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Thank you so much! I was really looking for a document like this! As i said i have a very mild colour defficiency and still have high hopes for a pilot career. Once again thank you, your content keeps me interested and drivven to go for this!

Another great video :-). Just one question, how do you record ATC and radio sound ?
With my GoPro I hear mainly the wind and ventilation
Thanks! Yes, you are right, recording of good quality audio in the cockpit is a very difficult task. But, right now, I cannot release any details about my detailed recording process. Maybe at a later time. I am sorry that I cannot give you a better answer.
