Nice one, again, Luke. Way, way, way back, did something similar with changing an old bath, from the 70s', lead piping on the 22s', replaced them with copper, isolators added, first time facing one, the bath wouldn't come out. Had an iron mallet to help knock it off the wall to no avail, then the mallet dropped and split the bath. That was my saving grace, had to take it out in pieces. 🤨

Done the job, think I would have changed the stack though, your allowed to cut asbestos cement damp it down as you cut, double bag it and seal, you can get asbestos company’s to pick it up from the door step for not too much, done it a few times, just use one of the rubber 100mm couplers with the big jubilee clips to get you back onto plastic.

I’d have gone for on of the hybrid adhesives that you can use in wet conditions as it tends to create a good seal and you can quickly test it for leaks after! What happens with those bosses on the asbestos is over time the asbestos much like chipboard and water does they start to swell up and then you lose the integrity of it & then you're looking at a new stack!
The waste pipes are normally 1" not 1¼ and it seems that's the size they always used . It's the same here in Brighton . If I showed you some of the bosses and hiw they were fitted to stacks you'd be shocked. Loads are around where I live housing estates built in the late 50' and mid sixties everything was asbestos! Much like you where you had to use ptfe to make like a cone of sorts to seal the waste into the stack. I've used an O ring before and I was surprised it actually worked !!
That leak on the stack all you can really do is use something like CT1 or similar where you can apply it with water present will probably be the best you can do!
Like I mentioned before to you use a deep seal trap or a viva waterless trap so the toilet doesn't suck out the seal on it!!
Overall you did a tidy job!
Remember the wastes are made in with Red Lead ! Heat them up with a blow lamp the cast iron will absorb the heat anyways and that nut should come undone alot easier . Only thing you have tk be careful of is tapping the waste fitting back up into the bath as sometimes it pulls the enamel off and chips 🙈
The Americans use a recip through the waste fitting from the top, cut the grating out with a multi tool and then cut through the waste in 2 slots and voila out it comes!
I had to do alot of this as an apprentice in the 70's . What can catch out is the waste fitting can be 1¼ so the waste hole in the bath is smaller therefore then the 1½ waste fitting won't fit ! So you had a bit of luck 👍
You'll find as you come across more they're nearly all 1" waste and adaptive traps ends which fit the waste but are 1¼ on the other end of the trap which screw onto the bath waste.
Moving forward I would just say it needs ripping out as it will come back and bite you in the arse so to speak!
Oh yeah STOP using knuckle bends on waste .😅
Especially baths as they clop up with hair super quick and then you can't rod them , thats why I always use large radius swept bends 👍
Keep up the great work, I like watching your stuff as you do the job properly unlike some of the other tubers on here!
If you ever want any advice on the older stuff that you come across just holler ok 👍
