- It's time to place the gun ports. The process took a lot of hours and almost a week to complete. It is very time consuming and also boring but the result is worth it. Enjoy the looks!!! This Video comes in 1080p.

John, it looks spectacular. Never thought for a minute that anything that you are doing on the ship is easy. It's just that you are so good that it makes it look that way.

Hey John! I am up to the next step, :) following your videos very closely and building the Santisima. About to start opening the gun ports. I would not have been able to get here without your help, thank you very much for putting these videos together! You are a scholar, craftsman and gentleman! Give Wolf a pat on the head for me. :)
I am glad that i was able to help you Craig!!! Thank you very much for your kind words!!! I will ,i will :)
Thank you I enjoy your channel!
Thank you very much John!!!
Hi John! Hello Friend!!! I am watching your assembly with interest, I do not miss a single release. But sometimes I don’t write anything. And now I decided to write. I think home-made ports made of wood would look much better. But, I understand that a lot of work. I myself would probably be too lazy to make wooden ports, with copper loops. I just expressed my opinion. I think if it’s good to paint over these iron ports, it will also look good. Sorry for my English, I use a translator.
P.S:
black paint inside the ports weaves, this gives out the back. It should hide the back wall. I'll try to process the inside of some of the ports with matte paint or matte varnish.
Hi!!! Thank you for being a faithfull viewer! Yes i agree the wooden gun ports would be more beautiful like the Santa Ana model. But we are talking for 138 gun ports and it would be very difficult to make them. Also i do not have the appropriate wood to make these. The wood should be walnut and must have a width of at least 10-12 mm and a thickness of 1,5 -2 mm. Also i 'll need hinges made from metal and i believe it's going to be difficult to find 276 hinges in this scale.
Bravo John
Thank you very much Alfredo!!!
I am up to placing the gun ports now and I'm glad I watched this video first. Some great hints that should make things a little easier for me. Although I'm sure I have many boring hours ahead of me :) Hopefully mine will come out as well as yours
She will Greg, you will make her a work of art!!!
Gros travail et résultat extra ---A+
Thank you very much Robert!!!
Thanks for great videos and tips John. Can I ask 2 questions; why not paint the gunport doors red Before you put them in place? Wouldn't that be easier? Also, why not varnish the sides before you glue the gunports in place? I am not at this step yet. I am watching ahead to see what tips and problems you can help me to avoid. Thanks.
Easy to answer that Byron, because with the placement you will have glue marks and you will have to repaint - revarnish them. Ofcourse you can do it, you just going to take some more time to do it again because no matter how careful you are in all these gunports you are going to have some excess glue or some kind of an accident and if you repaint one or two etc. then these won't match the others :)
Good afternoon John. I already do finishing trims on Trinidad. but your videos starting from part 28 with limited access became. I can’t watch your work. sorry.
Hi! Like i said before, i upload videos before i make them live. What you see in private will become live later. The part 28 will become live on Wednesday, you must have patients :). Also you are not obliged to watch my videos, it's a free world :).
