WOW! Straight, to the point and spot on. This one minute of my time (several years ago) could have saved me HOURS of research and study. Always nice to find a quick and simple answer to a direct question! Thank you...
This woman needs her own channel to take any and all topics that get mucked up by the "experts" and explain things quickly and easily in plain English.
Well done! Just what you need. Keep up the great work! (I also like the fact that she didn't say "What's up guys?" like every other person on this app.)
EXACTLY! People make it seem so complicated with that pythagorean theorem speech. In the end regardless, it's simple math. This method is similar to how we use here. We pick a spot no mater where it is on the pitch, Measure 12" sub our run and there's your angle. Thanks for this 45 second to the point explanation!
Okay marking the level was the part that really helped me out because today I was trying to do the same thing but I just didn't have the 12in and everything so I couldn't get my accurate rise I was trying to do it from the inside because I was patching it from a dormer that we removed
I am so confused. How do you figure out rise from scratch? For example, building a new shed or something. Does it depend on how steep I would like the roof? Or would I just pick a number 4,6,8,12?
If you have access to the attic you can use this just in reverse. Good video but you really should have pointed out the bottom of the level is where the 6in measurement came from. Good to see a women giving instruction on a male dominate industry. We need to see more women inspiring young girls to get in the building trades. 👏 👏
What difference does it make if women are in the building trades ? Why do we need to see more women in the building trades ? Why is it a problem that the building trades is male dominate ? If a woman wants to get into the building trades business, there is absolutely nothing stopping them.
She made a mark at 12 inches on top of the level to see where to drop the measuring tape. Then measure to the bottom of the level because the bottom edge/ corner of the level touches the roof.
When you measure down to the roof you need your tape to be square to the level, but it probably doesn't make that much of a difference as long as your tape is close to square to the level.
Came here for clarity but I think I just got more confused lol - Isn't this roof SLOPE since youre measuring rise over a 12" run? Roof PITCH, I believe, is the total the rise over the total span of the roof.
I hope she marked the bottom of that level where it was actually touching the roof and not the top. There's a 3" gap before contract at the top of the level
Straight simple compared to how others use 3 paragraphs to describe the process.

When you know what you’re doing so you can simply and easily explain and make it clear in a few seconds. Congrats.
Love these kinds of vodeos. Don't waste any time. Thank you.
I cannot believe it took me an hour to find someone who can explain an easy way to do this in plain English. Thank you!
Well done! Just what you need. Keep up the great work! (I also like the fact that she didn't say "What's up guys?" like every other person on this app.)
Thank you for that visual description, helped a bunch!
Thanks, that answer my question. I really wasn’t sure were the 12 came from in the measurement, now I know.
Thank you! You explained it in 45 seconds.
Best video in 45 seconds thank you.

Thank you. All the so-called experts go out of there way to make it difficult. You simplified.
Perfect and simple! Right to the point ! Great job
Nice pitch on getting your explanation across. You have a future in this field and hope to see more of you.🔨
Seriously thank you why do you guys have to make it such a big rigmarole I don’t need a rim view in geometry keep doing what you’re doing
Informative & direct. Excellent video.Keep em coming!
Oh you beautiful, brilliant instructor. Clean , Clear, and To the Point. A+
Thats definitely a faster way.
I am so used to looking at a roof now and seeing the hight of the peek/rise.
Great job ahowing this off.

Great, Straight to the point.
This helped me. Thank you!
Thank you for the easy explanation but I had to play it in slow motion to properly understand it.
Perfect, just what I needed to know! Thanks
So simple.....some explanations online seems they could also be used to find the average speed of airflow on the international space station....
Thanks for the tip. Party time; Excellent!
What is the difference between angle and pitch and when to use it. I want to build a 2/12 gable awning. Thanks!
Thank you. I am no longer feeling stupid.
I'm guessing you had a ruler on the other side of that level?
How do you know that was 12 in where you put it?
Wow is that simple ? Thank you !!
U are the best way u teaching ,,thank u
I am so confused. How do you figure out rise from scratch? For example, building a new shed or something. Does it depend on how steep I would like the roof? Or would I just pick a number 4,6,8,12?
Easy peasy! What about the slope of the roof? I don't quite get the differences?!
So do you get the number from were the ruler touches the bottom of the level or the top?
from what she says...im assuming the bottom of the level...which makes the most sense seeing how thats the straight line with nothing interfering
yeah..she literally says measure from bottom of level
Yup! Great way! Thank you.
Have you thought about joining the Secret Service?
The same can be applied by the bird box / eave fascia. For those who cannot get o a roof.
Now there is a young lady that knows what its about. Looks like she knows how to get things done. It does'nt take her 10 minutes to explain it.
Awesome video thank you
So if you only have a 6 inch level, do the same method and multiply by 2.
If you have access to the attic you can use this just in reverse. Good video but you really should have pointed out the bottom of the level is where the 6in measurement came from. Good to see a women giving instruction on a male dominate industry. We need to see more women inspiring young girls to get in the building trades. 👏 👏
:22 "we're measuring from the bottom of the level..."
Watch the video at 0:19 she shows you measure from the bottom of the level...

NOW they are IMPORTS doing such@@johnmarshall2439
You rock. Thanks!
Thanks
I’m old it takes me 5 minutes just to get on the roof🤔
To get down quicker, lie horizontally with the gutter of the roof and then roll down.
Real jesus spits some good advice
😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😁😁😁😁😁@@TheWormzerjr
Wait did you measure the top or below the level?
Since she used the bottom of the level to create the right angle to the measure tape that would be the point of measure
In simple words, she used the bottom of the level to get the angle of the roof, not the top.

She made a mark at 12 inches on top of the level to see where to drop the measuring tape. Then measure to the bottom of the level because the bottom edge/ corner of the level touches the roof.
Yes, thank you!

Great vid. And she is so cute.
Great. Thank you. 🤓🙏
Thank you
Thank you!
Are you measuring vertical distance rom roof to top of level or at bottom of level? Thx
The bottom of the level. Because the bottom of the level is in contact with the roof, thus the level line is along the bottom.
Watch the video at 0:19
Use a 4 ft level and measure in various parts of the roofs. Some old roofs can have droopy spots.
That would be good in your situation, and with such do you AVERAGE ALL your readings to ONE conclusion??
Came here for clarity but I think I just got more confused lol - Isn't this roof SLOPE since youre measuring rise over a 12" run? Roof PITCH, I believe, is the total the rise over the total span of the roof.
just go brandon
I hope she marked the bottom of that level where it was actually touching the roof and not the top. There's a 3" gap before contract at the top of the level
This gal put 10 other men to shame that attempted to explain roof pitch.. lol
Good explanation although
Is there anything to add on , only it seems you haven’t finished the sentence
Simpliest calculation I've seen, yet.
Re do the video, and put the tape numbers towards the level and camera.
Wouldn't be a bad idea, but she got the message across
Is super easy if you use the app 🙀
She can pitch my roof....giggidy
I would have dropped the shingles down at least halfway on the attic vent in the background, but to each their own.
It is an exact science, mathematics.
6 divided by 12 = 0.5
INV ARC (tangent) of 0.5 = 26.525 °
Inches and feet and .millimeter?!?!?
Sure Pythagoras but a speed square and plum Bob requires u to do no math or measuring
I need a construction babe if I cant have a pilot babe...lol...
She gave me a 6" rise.
Your probably gay
Doubt you even have 6”, sit down.
That’s inappropriate 😂
@@wa-reviews2794I can’t. It’s too big.
You get hard over ugly girls?😂
WTF DOES THAT MEAN MY SAW DOESNT HAVE FRACTIONS
Pretty lady
Noo hell noo! The easiest way is to find it ou by percent! 1m_ and 1m| is 100percent = 45degrees! Simple math. Go get it!
Just use a level app smh
It doesn’t hurt to know how to think, what if your phone dies
Throw your phone in the trash dumpster and get shingling, it's going to rain.
I imagine the using your phone would vary a lot.
