Very cool! I can think of a number of jobs I could have used that Ventrac over the years! But, life being as it was, my father handed us loppers and a 16" push mower. We learned the value of a hard days work, that's for sure. Now, being 62 and my father 88, I can show him this video and say; "REALLY?!!" 😂! Thanks for sharing, Brother. Have a great weekend!
These are the most fun jobs right here! For some customers I follow up with the Power Rake to grade and clean up the ground clutter and follow up with the Aera-Vator for seeding. My customers are always impressed with the Ventrac and how much I can get done all by myself
Hallo mr Brad. You know it's a good thing that enjoying your job so much isn't illegal. You would have been in so much trouble.🤣 But must confess I to enjoy your video very much. Sat here smiling. Imagine myself on that machine. Yes I know woman isn't supposed to be so taken with that type of thing but I'm in love with it. Karima South Africa
Nice job. I am hoping to do this exact thing once I am back in the seat of my 4520z . I have a 5-7 acer hillside that is starting to get saplings all over it and then I have another 40 acers of woods I want to reclaim. All that is putting aside the ~10 acers of hog damage I am trying to recover from in the pastures.
The lawn care service my condo HOA uses has one of these machines and I am seriously impressed. They use mostly JD stand up ZTRs for the mowing but this machine for special jobs. The power rake and the tiller in the summer and they have the mulching deck with a vacuum that chops and sucks up leaves into a hopper mounted on the back. And in the winter they hook up the snow blower and dozer blade. It’s so versatile and does each job like it was made for that job. That is the hallmark of a great investment. Usually a system will do many things decent and nothing perfect. This is the opposite.
Many a year ago, not a regular farmer, but got my teeth cut on a 100hp diesel tractor, and an 8 foot bush hog, and this would basically cut down anything the tractor could run over, including 1 in saplings, the field (100 acres) was covered in this stuff, and sure the engine would grunt and to my amazement, I look back and just see, basically, sawdust..., There is nothing like a 100hp diesel tractor.
This Ventrac!! What an awesome machine & this property turned out super great. Sorry about the shovel but glad the machine seemed okay. Was very interesting to see how easily it opens up to check all the parts. Standing ovation.
Hey Brother I'm surprised you have not rented other attachments surely somebody in Duval rents them just curious the initial cost of the machine scares a lot of people but the versatility and quality of their attachments is what makes it a worthwhile investment I've only have the opportunity to play with one and it was the vacuum attachment not going to lie I enjoyed it but then again I remember I use the word play I'm a bit of a tool Junkie
Brad. If I had that tractor I would find any reason to go plow shit over with it no matter what the cost lol. Just the ability to plow over trees and clear areas would be too much fun haha. Now if you don’t mind coming over to north central Florida and hitting my property for a video that would be great!
I think I remember that you said that Ventrac reached out to you and gave you this machine? With that said, do you feel that you have enough overgrown area that you can mow, within a reasonable drive, enough properties that this machine would pay for itself, if you had to pay for the machine? Just a regular "Todd" like me, I would have to mow quite a few properties and really put what I do out there in order for people to find me so I could mow enough properties to pay for the machine. Especially having just the brush hog attachment. I love the overgrown lots you do. I am sure that is why you do so many for free because you are keenly aware of the algorithm's of RUclips so you are compensated some what for your videos. Any way, keep mowing the overgrown lots and I will continue to watch you "Play" all day.
This is a good question and a tough one. My business model is so weird (I am a part time lawn care guy and a part time RUclipsr) that the things I do I have to consider really carefully if others could/should do them. That being said, I live in Baker County, Florida, which is like, 80% forests :D There are loads of people I could market this too, especially the aspect of pond bank clearing, something I wouldn't be able to do before. So lots of jobs on the Ventrac I am doing just because they make good film, but the question of 'could you build a business around it to justify', I think in my area I absolutely could. BUT it would require me to 'pound the pavement' and let people know about what I offer, which I usually do via a local Facebook group. A lot of people have work around their place that needs done and they just haven't been able to do it themselves because of time or not having the right equipment. I feel the Ventrac is the right equipment!
So if there are 2 pieces of brush growing right next to each other, that are both 3/4 in diameter, and you cut them at the same time, does that count against the manufacturer 1” rule?
So real talk here, the machine will absolutely handle stuff over 1". I was being a bit facetious in that clip. The issue is (and keep in mind this is just Brad talking, this isn't official standpoint as far as I know), even though the blades CAN cut through a 3 inch piece of brush, what happens next is you have a 3" log that can just get absolutely thrashed around in the underside of the deck and can wedge/lodge/smash itself in such a way that it could risk breaking a belt/pulley/etc.
Classic "when all you have is a hammer every problem looks like a nail" 😁 That being said, I believe Ventrac's flail mower is better suited to taller grasses rather than this kind of stuff.
@@CopperCreekCuts My comment was based on how fixed rotating blades can get damaged hitting unseen objects (like shovels LOL). I thought that was one of the selling points of flail style equipment - not as likely to be damaged by hidden solid debris. Just an observation - not intending to bash your equipment.
I watched a video where I learned in the 80's they made a 100hp tractor that looked like a giant version of this. I have been trying to find one in the wild ever since, but failing.
What’s the size of your trailer ? I have been looking for one that’s perfect for my ven-track but having no luck , the one I have now waayyy to big for one thing on it.
in these type of overgrow woods scenarios it's not the Mosquitoes that worry me... its the hidden angry deamon nests called ground bees that you don't know is there until there trying to kill you
Man if I lived closer to you I would offer myself free to run your Ventrac just to have the pleasure . On a side note what do you film and edit with have you ever made a video on that
how do you drive through all that without a facefull of giant spiders...? ALSO you need to take the ventrac to a body shop and get those red bits sprayed lime green, red isnt very on brand.
I can't stop commenting on and about this ventrac. I keep looking where the cut material is going but I can't see anything like a lawn mower would normally leave a line of grass on the sides. But not this mower. It looks like it pulverize the grass
The place looks great now. Not to be rude, but aren't you the guy who said "nobody does anything for free"? Seems you mentioned a couple of competitors in that comment also....particularly "Lawncare Juggernaut".
Double check what source you pulled that from, because I don't think that is me. I don't comment on what other channels do. Now what I have said in multiple videos regarding myself is that the main reason I do things is to make money via adsense, not to help people. Helping people is a benefit but not my main motivator.

@@CopperCreekCuts HAHAHAHA!!! Almost! Thanks Brad! THAT cracked me up!🤣🤣🤣
Awesome example of how useful it is to have the flip up kit on the Ventrac Tough Cut!
I am lazy so it helps me out a lot 🤣
Very impressive piece of machinery. I wish I could afford one of those for my property in Kansas. I have 10 acres I could use it on! Neat!
Find you an old 35hp tractor and a 5-6ft bush hog for 2-3k dollars. You can do all that and more
@@CumminsDriver exactly. I was gonna say at that size a full on tractor would be better 🚜
Man have you come along way. I remember when you cut a over grown yard with chest high grass using a hedge trimmer.

That machine is epic nice job mate thanks for the video and keep up the great work sir
That bad boy does such a thorough job.
So awesome!!! That thing really mows down the thick brush. Didn't know it had a shovel attachment!! 🤣 Take care. B&D
Jurassic Park 😂. Nice work, Brad! I did think you were going to take out the tripod first thing though. Hey, I’ve done it with the VENTRAC lol.
Some angles looked like a Brazillian rain forest !! Awesome!

I'm really liking your new monster mower. It can cut down some very thick weeds. I see you are loving it. Great job. 👍

Good to know it can handle some abuse. I always worry about junk like that in places like these writing off a mower head.
I tell you that Brad is a prince of a man helping that old codger out with his overgrown mosquito ranch
Haha, I surprise myself sometimes with my magnaminity!
That Ventrac is a monster!! Great machine you have there! I might have to get one for my own house someday!

Do you were having way too much fun on that machine today! Hope you had a great day, you did a very good job!
All I can ever say about VenTrak! That thing is a BEAST!
Hasn't let me down yet (still new to me though, but I will keep trying!)
absolutely amazes me what these Ventracs can do
I am still new to it, but constantly happy and surprised with the performance (especially that shovel).

Like that the underbrush is being controlled without burning it. Returning the nutrients to the land is good for the trees and animals living there.
Didn't think about that as a benefit but you aren't wrong!

Yes sir another video !!! I would like to do a collaboration with you sometime with summer !!!
I mistakenly asked in a prior video if that was a flail mower...MY BAD ! It is really a monster rough cut. Great video.

💯💯💯💯♥️I love it..
It would be great to make a drone shot of the area you are working on shwo the progress on it a few times in the video.
Not on this site. Too many trees to risk the return to home feature sending the drone to its death. I need to figure out how to disable it.
I had to resort to using a push mower to get rid of my jungle :) wish I had this though it would be done in no time

@Copper Creek Cuts Lawn Care; so my question is this. Is it a Ventrac or Brush cutter? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Great job as always.
Hey I think they discover big foot in them there woods !
Why is it, that the forrest isn't allowed to grow by it self?
Can we please do a custom copper creek cuts neon green wrap on the ventrac??
LOL Too much work and not sure it would stand up to the heat of the engine/exhaust system! :)
You have so many Red Bud saplings where you live. What state are you out of?
What kind of blades does that have Rotary blades, or just straight blades. Nice Machine
3 25" blades that rotate
Out of curiosity how many hours can you get out of the tank of gas??

Well I hit a shovel in this video. I would imagine something similar.
Man if I lived closer to you I would offer myself free to run your Ventrac just to have the pleasure .

Thanks! I use Movie Studio 13, I think? Some super cheap program. Haven't made a video on that type of stuff in years, they just don't perform well.
How would a flail mower with hammers do ?????
Good question! Guess it depends on the machine powering it.
