    (Edit) FLAIR you need to wear your PPE at all times. No matter the size of the tree or your capabilities, get some chaps, boots and ear/eye protection. Accidents do happen

    As a landscaper watching you try to start a chainsaw makes me cringe 🤦‍♂️also nothing like notching the wrong side of the tree. And for the love of god buy some safety chaps.

    • @ryanmasin9305
      @ryanmasin9305 5 лет назад +17

      From a professional arborist and a well practiced user...PLEASE watch some safety videos on chainsaw use. Drop starting a saw is very dangerous, using a saw without chaps is very dangerous, and not knowing the property way to fell a tree can be very dangerous. With all of the property you have to maintain, a set of chaps and safety helmet (with ear protection) would be a cheap investment in your safety. I think your fiancé would approve. She wants you to be around a while!

    You forgot one thing when installing the fence. What's to stop the raccoons and coyotes from digging/burrowing under the fence? My father in law did what you did to keep the coyotes out of his chicken coop and raccoons out of his garden. Couple weeks later he came out one morning to find most of his chickens slaughtered and his sweet corn & strawberries mowed down. He ended up installing the chicken coop on top of a cement slab, with the electric fence flush to the slab, and he dug a 5 foot deep trench around the garden (with a backhoe) and filled it with a crude form of compacted gravel & cement, to ground level, and then installed the electric fence on top of that. He hasn't had issues since.

    Next year you should plant apple and/or pear trees around the farm for the deer. Or you could get the tiller for your tractor and make some mean ass food plots that the deer would flock too.. it's also beneficial for their racks and overall health but your channel is on fire right now bro keep it up!

    Great job coach looks like you helped them build a pretty weird fence

    While the grass is short at the bottom of the fence use some herbicide and poison a 4 inch strip of the grass so it looks nice and neat when you mow. Once it becomes bare dirt I pour all my sump oil along the fence line to stop the grass growing up through the wire.

    Yo flair, I work for a Kubota dealer in PA. Not sure if John deer makes them but you need a third function kit on your loader. You can then get a grappler with hydraulics and it’ll work a lot better for you for picking bigger stuff up

    Get a hydraulic root grapple powered by a third function valve kit (sold/installed by John Deere). They’re a lot stronger and more efficient at clearing brush, trees, rocks, etc!

    to cut a tree where u r not pushing on it, take a small chunk of wood out the way u want it to drop then do on other side and cut into it and it should fall that way, and please dont pull something with your bucket on your tractor, just lower the brush cutter and hook up the chain on the back side. not on 3 point arms u will brake them. also i think someone make wood splinters for your tractor.

    I would recommend getting a small fuel barrel with a filter on it for the diesel. It'd surprise you how much junk comes out of the pump

    To ensure the tree falls the way you want lift the buckets all the way up on your tractor and push against the tree to hold pressure on it while you cut it so it falls where you want

    I love cuttin' trees. A chain brake isn't something a non saw guy would know. Also agree on the brush grabber being flimsy. Seems that thing is built pretty lite for grabbin' brush.
