Isn't it strange that orchestras and hard rock/ heavy metal go together so well while not much else will. Heavy metal IS modern classical while most pop is the equivalent of hitting a couple of sticks together.

Epica was the worst life-voice and After Forever (FLOOR) is awesome too of course but not THAT solid concerning tune! Don´t get me wrong I totally admire Floors skills (I wanted her right after Tarja left for NW), but lets stay objective.

I would not rate her or any other as "the best" - we should be more than happy to live in an age of absolute wonderful and fabulous (metal) singers: Floor Jansen, Cristina Scabbia, Simone Simons, Melissa Bonny, Tatjana Schmajljuk, Jennifer Haben, Amy Lee, Clementine Delauney, Alissa White-Gluz, Violet Orlandi, Vicky Psarakis, ... I can go on and on. All of them are great, all of them are also great live. Why should rate anyone of them as being the best?
