I'm Australian, I was lucky enough to get a Belgian therapist. For perspective, he wouldn't tell you to cheat on your girlfriend because it feels good, but he wouldn't call you a sook if you complained that you were stranded at sea and traumatised. A happy medium, if you will.

major difference is how they never test kids for adhd in america and just hand out super addictive compounds at max dosage but australia only 3% are on meds for it country wide.
they hadn't even confirmed I had ADHD and the still said it was best if I went on the medication long story short I got tested again and I don't have ADHD
It’s because many kids (especially boys) by nature are hyper and want to run around, be physical and explore a lot but because many parents are so tired and busy these days working multiple jobs they don’t have the energy to play football with them in the park or in the garden, schools are cutting back on extra curricular outdoor games, sports and activities. Kids are now on screens indoors more than ever before so they have all this energy they cannot get rid of, parents and school complain and doctors just label it as “ADHD” and hand out stimulants like candy to the kids as a solution. That said, some kids genuinely do have ADHD and cannot focus in school or do any work but many diagnosed are just energetic kids with no outlet.
Back in old days, when i went to primary school (in former Yugoslavia), teachers didn't need to say a single word - we were quiet as butterflies. Looking back i have no idea how they established the discipline. Not a single child 'required' medication for being a normal child. I'd say teachers are inventing 'adhd' in children to compensate for their own professional inadequacies.
Honestly it’s funny how shit the mental health system is in Australia, been in and out of that many different clinics I couldn’t name em all since I was 7. More than half the time they just discharged me bc they didn’t know how to help, like isn’t that your fuckin job 🤣👌
