  • I love every project I work on because it s a journey of transformation. I get them when they need help and I give them back looking totally different.
    But this chair.....WTF.
This chair had the most convoluted and unnecessary amount of patterning and wasted technique.
    It nearly broke me.

Hey, I know how you felt !! I had the most wonderful Lazyboy Swivel Rocker I found at a yard sale and gave $2 for. It was comfy and I loved it. A couple of years went by and I decided I wanted to reupholster it, never having done one like this before.....it was a disaster from the first. I ended up having a chair in pieces for 6 months, partially reupholstered, in my living room. I got so frustrated I ended up throwing it away. I SO loved that chair....and now I'm afraid to tackle another one. I simply bit off more than I could chew and was arrogant enough to not take as much care as I needed, but you have done it a little differently. Shows what a real professional can do! Thanks from a newly humbled fake reupholsterer! Wonderful mastery of that recliner!😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

In Australia they have a lifetime warranty. The mechanism is tough, I've got one that gets mostly daily use and is as good as new after more than 15 years. Went back to the distributor once for new foam. You did an awesome job with that

Turned out looking phenomenal! Lovely colours in the fabric, are florals making a comeback?
Even though the patterning gave you some trouble you made it look easier than it was!

Aah you're too kind and thank you. Florals and full prints have been sneaking back into trend for a wee while. In this case my client was brave and excited for something fun and interesting. Her wish was my command.

Those pleats can be a pain lol, but they got some extra cushioning. When pleating/gathering, try using your snips/nippers, un-pickers, or an open pair of scissors, if your brave or a nutter, which, I think, you may have a little of the latter in you haha
I wasn't sure of the fabric at first. Old school, with a modern twist?!?!
I really wish those cutters were around, when I was making wedding dresses ffs lol Also a walking foot, it only came out/popular when I had to stop sewing, how do they help? xJacq

@@red-inmy-50s-temper-dont-match why thank you....I think it's 'I'm a bit of a nutter'. Have you ever sewed your finger?

@@DMWinterburn Oh yes, quite a few times, I still have the end of a needle stuck in the end of my finger, from 32 years ago haha My mum said you had to sew 3 to be a professional sewer, I've done more than my 3 lol
