If you have spectrum you'll need to plug into the router and it will work like normal. When your connection or power gets disconnected your back up cellular Connection and battery power will power the security system as it is built. I've had mine for a couple months and I love it!
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
I just kicked our security company to the curb because of their tactics when providing customer service. I want to get the facts on cost, not a veiled attempt to "do me a favor" by giving me something at no charge, then obligating me to a 60 month time pay for that no charge item or service. I was done! Now I am shopping for a no contract replacement because I do want security protection since I am home alone so much of the time. I am usually the DIY person in the household so I want something that you don't have to be a tech guru to set up. This looks very promising. Thank you for your well made video and the time you took to explain things step by step. If I choose this system I will definitely refer back to you as my resource.
Very nicely explained, thank you very much! I watch video 4-5 times and was able to do it myself. This video is slightly over two years old, so actual procedure is slightly different, but 97% of procedure is the same, video has been a great help to me, many thanks.
Enjoyed your video on the ring alarm pro very much but I do have a question for you. In your video you said that I can use the ring alarm pro without using the eero router but how would you go about doing that because I am very interested in upgrading to the pro but not sure how you go about it. Thanks for any help you can suggest thanks
@@tpp603 thank you Matt for all your help I have purchased the alarm pro and waiting to receive my storage card for videos and I will be installing it soon.
@@tpp603 watched the video you suggested and yes you do say that you don’t have to use the eero router but do we have to go through the steps of setting it up and then put it in bridge mode
I see you have Spectrum. I have the same modem and wifi (my condolences). Modem only has one ethernet output. So did you connect the eero to a Spectrum wifi ethernet port or disconnect spectrum wifi and add the eero to the cable modem?
Thank you so much for that great video…I’m looking to buy Ring Alarm Pro within a couple of days!! You were very detailed I’m so glad I found your page.
Do I have to place the base station next to my existing modem? What If I want to place it in a different room on a high shelf ? Also what if i want to keep my existing WiFi and have the eero network as a secondary WiFi network how would i accomplish that please ? Thank you😊
Hi thank you for your video! I am just setting mine up but I have the eero pro (3pack) as my current router and I love it so if I want to continue using it do I put my ring right after the modem then my current eero main hardwired to ring base? or do I put my ring base after my current era pro? so much conflicting info out there on this... does either order slow down your speed or remove features? thank you!!!!!
Very knowledgeable and informative video. One qq - since I have my modem in the basement, can I connect the alarm with echo device on the main floor so that if the alarm goes off, I can hear that through echo device. Thank you!
if I'm in the home mode and entry exit sensors are enabled, is it going to alarm when my friend enters the home? And do I have to cancel the alarm whenever anyone enters the home?
Hey Matt I did watch the video on setting up the alarm pro with eero and I hear you say that we don’t have to use the eero but the video doesn’t say how to go about it. So do I go through the steps like your showing or do I just download the eero app and put it in bridge mode ?
I already have a ring system with several cameras - do I need this base station for the sensors ? does it work as a separate system on the same account - coming up on the same page on my iOS? or do I need to start all over with cameras and all? Very unintuitive.
I currently have a AT&T Digital Life system that is paid off and AT&T is getting out of the business. The wireless sensors on the AT&T are ZWave. Do you think this system may be able to read those sensors? My front door lock is also ZWave and integrated with the AT&T. Thanks for the GREAT video!
So if I’m understanding your video you don’t have to use the eero mesh system so if that is the case I could just keep my ring base station that I have because I really don’t gain anything with the pro unless I’m not understanding you. What is your thoughts
Were you able to connect this to your existing network? Or did you have to replace/extend using Eero? My preference is to avoid using Eero but I'm getting mixed vibes about the feasibility.
PLEASE REPLY: To be clear, you already had your modem connected to another wifi router (from the cable company), and now you are going to connect a second (Ring) wifi router to the modem??? I was not aware you could connect more than one router to your modem...

‼️ Just wanna say GREAT video but I need your HELP please! HOW DO I GET PAST THE QUIRK IN THE APP (@ 9:53 ON AN IPHONE🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Do they now have sensor alerts that say/ identify EXACTLY which Door, or window is open? Like "Front Door, is open". "Back door, is open", etc. ?
That would be good to know.
Wow yours install with ease 😡 I’m have trouble just getting the base station connected to the internet
Great video. I have a question. I have devices in my network that only runs on a 2.4 GHz network. Will this setup support them?
Can you set up your ring alarm system on two phone devices? The reason is Me and my wife have different work time schedules.
Yes, the Ring Alarm: amzn.to/3Wugr83 can be set up on two different devices.

Modem and router are in one they are not separate does that make a difference in the set up process? Great job
If you are using Modem and Router two separate units currently, then your Ring Alarm Pro will retire your Router.
Does the keypad produce an alarm sound as well or just the base station?
Yes it does.

My ATT Service provider has only one combo box Modem + Router so it has 4 ethernet ports but I don't see any WAN port. Where do I plug in?
what happens if the ring system on my phone dosent recognize my device

Bridge Mode?

Can I give my extra sensors to someone else to add to their Ring alarm system?
yes. not sure if you have to reset them if paired to your old system.
Little concerned it also has to be your router…they gotta mine all the data don’t they ?
Many ISPs provide a combo modem/router
when the system is disarmed, do the door sensors beep when opened?
Yes

Where in the back of medem? Where it says voice
There's no way to plug directly in the Modem. It can only go to the router.
You obviously don’t know the difference between the modem and the router.
Bro why is your stuff on a floor like that
If you need router why pay for it?
