I misunderstood the title. I dissolved the pattern, I am only fed up with my drama.🙂 I cannot stand my parental energy! I repel it!
I had an extreme journey with this trap, and my relationship to my parents was much as you described. I was raised in neglect like a dog by a violent monster and a brilliant coward, and they taught me to be like the coward, and so of course I ended up marrying a violent monster who eventually killed me. It was a life not worth living yet I escaped by burning all bridges after enduring full identity destruction and reinventing myself, rather shockingly.
I beat my life's spiritual challenge yet I seem to be on a bonus round. Destroying my masculine ego consciousness revealed I am a Scythian Two-Spirit, which is a Sphinx. I am something the western narrative does not believe possible so I'm marginalized af. The loneliness is awful. :\ Yet at least I am righteous, and I know God loves me.

Very interesting.The best way to find out why we are treated in one way or another is to be aware of how we act ourselves and how we deal with others and life,.. it's just a copy,...all is one big mirror,...from the moment there is no more selfish interest that's called selflessness :)
Nearly 20 years ago, I ventured to forgive my mother. She suffered incredibly in her life, before I was born, but she abused me terribly in every single way, including sexually. Maybe that's shocking to you, but it's true.
Nearly 20 years go, I ventured to forgive her for her horrific abuse, but I had hardly any idea what I had taken on .
I did it without expecting any particular outcome, and without knowing it at the time I was facing the full impact of my own karma.
What arose in the three days prior to offering my complete forgiveness for her absolute betrayal of my being was literally unbelievable.
At one point, I was 100% certain that I would die with my very next breath.
I travelled many miles to complete this forgiveness project, and speak it to her face.
She accepted as best she could at the time. She was near death.
This act of forgiveness freed me from the horribly destructive relationship I had been trapped in with her for my whole life.
With time, I realized that truly and completely forgiving my mother's transgressions had transformed the karma of our ancestors, as well.

I didnt realize how attached to my father I was until he passed away. A year before he died I was being led to detach from his spiritual guidance and wisdom. I felt such an instability and loss when he passed bevause he was not only father but my friend. However, my marriage was kept together by his guidance and i went to him for everything... very strange dynamic. he has been gone 4 years now and i relied on him spiritually way too much instead of cultivating my own being. I wouldnt describe my relationship with him as toxic even though there was elements of that.. what if the relationship was more on the healthy side yet there is still a need to let go? Or am I just not recognizing the toxic relationship going on?
Through positive experience, we easily create codependency, and lose our autonomy in decision making and perception of life. Inner freedom is the freedom from the collective/other people's ideas, emotions and influences.

Any attraction holds a seed, a key to the limitations/patterns/distortions and at the same time the resolution and liberation from them. Look at everything and everyone from the stand point of Energy. What does this energy invoke, provoke or trigger in you, and work with that. Blessings
