The difference is rikiashi purposely gained weight for that gimmick. He used to be skinny and built with muscle before that. And today most wrestlers don't do it on purpose. Because of health reasons. It doesn't even make sense to gain any weight for wrestling when its scripted but he did. He was probably told to do it by Vince because he thought it'd be "Good Shit"
