I am just astonished this sketchbook is so beautiful and inspiring. You get so many colors on a page and they all look great. I’m also in love with the black and white pieces. So inspired, wow! Thank you and as you know I took your class and today I pasted together my first little “book”. It’s tiny. So I can hide it (lol). But seriously, thank you for sharing.

WOW! WOW! I really love your sketch book Helen. I just recently found your site and really resonate with your art. I am 76 and started art journalling 2016 after years of different crafts and now I have been doing more abstract arty stuff. So satisfying. I’ve just filled a couple of books like yours, changing themes and styles of abstract stuff. I’m still hesitant to call it art, but seeing your books and others on utube I find I do have connections to the abstract art community. So glad I found you Helen. Love Trills, NZ.xx

I love this particular sketchbook of yours and the "rabbit hole" you go down, which is brilliant and looks amazing to me. I love the juxtaposition of the black and white with the strong colours. Thank you so much for sharing this. It has given me added impetus to get back to your course!

Love this sketchbook. So many great pages. I love nature so I particularly liked the leaves and the trees. It’s as if each page is having a conversation with the next page. Do you gesso your journal pages before you begin, Helen? I could watch this video over and over.
Oh that is kind. I don’t prepare my sketchbook pages in any way at all, I just paint straight on to the paper, as they’re just meant to be experiments I’m all for easy! X
Love your videos and seeing your art. Are the felt pens you use waterproof? Which felt pens would you recommend?
Thank you so much Cheryl. I use all sorts.. felt tip pens from various brands including Tombow, Faber Castell Pitt Pens, Ecoline Brush Pens, Pentel, Staedtler and Stabilo. I tend to build up layers of felt tip pen to get the super rich deep colours I like. x
Beautiful Art! Which is your recommended white pen? Also, you are a natural teacher!
Oh thank you so very much, that is lovely of you. I don't have any white pens that I wholeheartedly love they all seem to dry up, skip, leak or be pesky eventually... i mostly use a Posca pen or a Molotow pen, or a Gelly Roll broad or a Uni Ball Signo x

It is amazing, especially your details. Do you stitch your own pages into a book, or is it a purchased sketchbook? Also, is your white a gel pen, ink, or gouache applied with a brush?
Oh thank you. It’s a purchased pre made sketchbook from Fabriano, called the Venezia Book… x
To make those curved lines, so precise Lee close to each other over and over again do you use any kind of instrument or are those all freehand? If you do use instruments which instrument do you use I'm just amazed at your imagination love seeing your sketchbook.❤
Oh thank you. Everything I do is just freehand, I guess it’s my natural way of mark making…I’m just doing what comes naturally, perhaps your natural way has a different quality x
