    for the buildup on the little plug thing (not sure what its called as i just got mine and can't remember haha)... i filled a small bowl with warm/hot water and some dish soap and dropped it in so it was submerged for about 30 minutes to soak. all i had to do after that was lightly scrub and rinse it off. was almost new again.

    I love how easy to clean these smokers are. Just got an Ironwood XL a few days ago (1 cook so far), but its interesting to see how much gunk and buildup you had after a while. Good thing is that it looks easy to get rid of.

      I really have nothing bad to say about this grill/smoker I've cooked just about everything in it

    Looking in to getting a pellet smoker. I stick burn currently on a refurbished cheap offset. You have me thinking about getting a treager. Thanks for the content. Looking forward to more of your videos...

      It really is set it and forget it, but you won't get that heavy heavy smoke flavor.

    Thansk for the review! Looking into this grill and found this. Info for you, 2.4 GHz is the really old wireless technology, for most houses still has most of the devices connected here, and is suspectable to all kinds of interference, including running your microwave (which will almost knock all 2.4 and Bluetooth which also runs on 2.4 offline).

    clean the top heat deflector with an stanley blade then use traeger cleaner, spray it on and let it sit for 10 minutes then scrape again with blade an it will look like new. You can put the lower grates in the dish washer, i have the xl version and all 3 grate go in dish washer at the same time

    Im in canada and hearing a lot of people talk about taking forever to reach desired temp and glitches on the app have you experienced any of this?

    • @everydaycookingdad
      @everydaycookingdad  Год назад

      The app can be a little glitchy at times. But the gill heating up every once in a while. I'll have to open the hood while it's heating up and then it ramps up But it takes no longer than any other grill that I have.

    I’m not a pellet cooker fan, I have one but it does not come close to a gravity smoker like a Stumps or my Kamado Joe in taste. The Stumps gravity smoker is absolutely a set it and forget it.

    • @everydaycookingdad
      @everydaycookingdad  Год назад +1

      Every cooker has its pluses and minuses when I wanna heavier smoke I go with my barrel cooker or Weber kettle

    • @donhgr
      @donhgr Год назад

      @@everydaycookingdad I can’t find any minuses with the Stump gravity. If you ever get one you’ll be amazed, set it and forget it like a pellet and the taste of an offset.

    You might want to change your title to just say Ironwood grill. Since this is not the XL. The ironwood XL and the ironwood are two different sized grills.

  • @scottwilkins

    That is NOT a lot of build up. Smoking meat is a very dirty task. I've seen far worse smokers, especially some that are extremely hard to clean.
